Multiple big stars appeared on the show, including John Cena, Jey Uso, Cody Rhodes, Rhea Ripley, Becky Lynch, Seth Rollins, and LA Knight, among others.
Get to know what happened this Saturday, as we have the complete summary, highlights, results, and winners’ list for the 2025 edition of WWE Money in the Bank.
WWE SmackDown Summary and Highlights
Women’s Money in the Bank- Alexa Bliss vs Roxanne Perez vs Rhea Ripley vs Giulia vs Naomi vs Stephanie Vaquer
The six women collided in the first match of the show to battle for the women’s MITB briefcase. The match was not just exciting on paper with three veterans and three rising stars and former NXT Women’s Champions, but also delivered multiple iconic moments.
The match once again showed Rhea Ripley‘s star power, with the Inglewood erupting in every instance she stepped in the ring. Perez, Giulia and Vaquer also put an amazing fight, so did Alexa, but in the end, it was Naomi who cleared the ring of Ripley and Bliss to capitalize and become the 2025 Ms. Money in the Bank.
Dominik Mysterio (c) vs Octagon Jr. – Intercontinental title match
Dominik Mysterio defended the Intercontinental title in a seemingly impromptu match against Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide’s Octagon Jr. The match was set up after their interaction at Worlds Collide before MITB at the Kia Forum.
Octagon showcased his prowess in his WWE debut, on one of the biggest stages, but in the end, an outside interference from Liv Morgan aided Mysterio, who landed 619, followed by the frog splash to pick up the win and retain the title.
Lyra Valkyria (c) vs Becky Lynch – Women’s Intercontinental title match
Lyra Valkyria defended the Women’s Intercontinental title in a rematch from Backlash against Becky Lynch. The animosity between the two stars took centre stage as they exchanged vicious blows. Valkyria almost took out Lynch with a vicious leg drop right on the barricade as Lynch was hanging on to it.
Similar to Backlash, the two stars started exchanging roll-ups in the end but this time Becky grabbed Lyra’s tights to pick up the win and become the second women’s IC Champion in history. After the match, as promised, Lynch asked Lyra to raise her hand high, declaring her the winner. Valkyria followed through and acknowledged the gesture, but Lynch asked her to do it in all four corners.
Lyra obliged but Becky then requested that she strap the title around her waist. Valkyria fought back her emotions, grabbed the title, and placed it around Becky’s waist. But then, in a shocking turn, Lyra took out Becky with a German Suplex, followed by the Nightwing, as she stood tall over the new champion.
Men’s Money in the Bank ladder match – Solo Sikoa vs LA Knight vs Penta vs Seth Rollins vs Andrade vs El Grande Americano
The men’s Money in the Bank ladder match was stacked similarly to the women’s one, with Penta, Solo Sikoa and El Grande Americano making their MITB debut. However, chaos broke out as Rollins, irked by fierce competition, called in his henchmen, as Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker came out, clearing the ring.
However, as they turned their attention to Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu and JC Mateo appeared aiding Solo, Breakker took out JC with a spear through the barricade but Fatu managed to take out Reed as he brought Solo back in the ring. Sikoa climbed the ladder but just then, Fatu grabbed his leg, announcing his ‘hatred’ for Sikoa before slamming him down through a bridging ladder ringside.
Rollins tried to capitalize, while Knight halted his offense only to eat a stomp from Rollins, who then climbed the ladder to grab the briefcase and become the 2025 Mr. Money in the Bank.
Cody Rhodes & Jey Uso vs John Cena & Logan Paul – Tag team match
In the main event of the show, Cody Rhodes teamed up with Jey Uso to battle the team of John Cena and Logan Paul. The team of Cena and Paul played mind games to kick off the match and then cornered Jey, battering him, while not allowing him to tag in Cody.
However, it all changed when Logan tagged himself in, sparking an argument which turned into shoving as Cody was tagged in. Logan landed the pluvirizer on Cody but made the mistake of flaunting off with the drone instead of capitalizing as Rhodes joined him on the top rope to deliver a neckbreaker and Jey landed the Uso splah.
Jey took out Cena with a spear on the announce desk while he was going for AA on Cody, Logan came in, taking out Jey with a jaw-dropping moonsault from the apron through the table. Back in the ring, Cena once again used cheap tactics, knocking out Cody with the title. However, before he could capitalize, a man in a hood and mask came in and attacked Cena.
The man then removed his mask to show that it’s, in fact, R-Truth who has returned amid much crowd fanfare. Truth hit Cena with the title and left as Cody capitalized, landing the cross Rhodes to pick up the win for his team in the main event.
