Charlotte Flair costs Jade Cargill the title as Tiffany Stratton escapes with a controversial victory.
Tiffany Stratton survived one of the toughest title defenses of her reign at WWE Night of Champions 2026, defeating Jade Cargill to retain the Women’s United States Championship after a chaotic finish that featured interference from Chelsea Green and the shocking return of Charlotte Flair.
What began as a showcase between two of WWE’s biggest stars quickly descended into absolute mayhem, with multiple competitors getting involved before Stratton capitalized on the chaos to leave with her championship intact.
Tiffany Stratton and Jade Cargill deliver a hard-hitting title showdown
The champion struck first with a boot before building momentum with a dropkick, but Jade Cargill immediately reminded everyone why she is one of WWE’s most physically dominant competitors. After escaping a sunset flip attempt, Cargill caught Stratton in a backbreaker rack, although the champion landed on her feet to continue the exchange.
Stratton connected with a hip attack before sending Cargill to the outside, looking to maintain the pressure. However, the challenger countered perfectly, blocking Tiffany’s dive and driving her knee-first into the apron with a brutal alarm clock-style attack.
Back inside the ring, Cargill nearly captured the title with a thunderous Liger Bomb, only for Stratton to kick out. Showing supreme confidence, Jade paused to perform push-ups in the middle of the ring before flattening the champion with a Black Hole Slam for another dramatic near fall.
The momentum continued to swing back and forth as Stratton countered a powerbomb with a dropkick before landing a cartwheel back elbow. She attempted her signature cartwheel Alabama Slam sequence, but Cargill refused to stay down as both women traded counters in an increasingly physical contest.
Charlotte Flair returns as outside interference changes everything

The match took a dramatic turn when B-FAB and Michin appeared at ringside, distracting Cargill long enough for Tiffany to regain control. Jade responded with a chokeslam, but even that wasn’t enough to put the champion away.
Chaos erupted moments later as Chelsea Green emerged from underneath the ring, where she had apparently been hiding throughout the match. Green neutralized B-FAB and Michin before grabbing the championship belt, prompting Cargill to chase after her. Referee Aja Perera became occupied trying to restore order while warning Green.
With the official distracted, Cargill reached for the title belt, but before she could use it, Charlotte Flair made her surprise return. Flair seized the championship and blasted Cargill with it, leaving the challenger lying out in the center of the ring.
Stratton wasted no time taking advantage of the opening. The champion climbed to the top rope and delivered the Prettiest Moonsault Ever, scoring the three-count to retain the WWE Women’s United States Championship in one of the most controversial finishes of the night.
The victory keeps Stratton’s title reign alive, while Flair’s return instantly raises major questions about her intentions and what comes next for Jade Cargill.
