Lil Yachty gets ejected before making a shocking return to help the champion celebrate

Trick Williams survived one of his toughest title defenses yet, defeating Ricky Saints to retain the WWE Men’s United States Championship at Night of Champions 2026. The champion overcame interference, multiple near-falls, and a relentless challenger before sealing the victory with his devastating Trick Shot.

The match didn’t end with the bell, however, as Lil Yachty made a dramatic return after being ejected earlier in the contest and delivered an unforgettable post-match moment.

Ricky Saints takes control after chaotic opening

The action erupted before the match officially settled in, with Ricky Saints attacking Trick Williams before the champion could even remove his entrance coat. Williams quickly regrouped, firing back with hard chops and fast-paced offense as both men traded momentum from the opening seconds.

The fight spilled to the ringside, where Saints attempted an Eddie Guerrero-style trick involving Lil Yachty and a kendo stick. Referee Darryl Sharma spotted the situation and had no choice but to eject Yachty from ringside despite objections from Williams.

With Yachty gone, Saints took full advantage. He repeatedly drove Williams into the barricade and steel steps before continuing the punishment inside the ring with elbow drops, knee strikes, stomps, and grounded punches.

Williams weathered the storm and answered with a straight suplex before rallying with a series of right hands, leg lariats, a flapjack, and a Book End that nearly secured the victory. Saints refused to stay down, answering with a powerbomb, reverse STO, and several close near-falls of his own.

As the intensity increased, both men traded heavy strikes in the closing minutes. Williams connected with a spinning kick and neckbreaker combination, but Saints stayed alive before countering another Trick Shot attempt with a perfectly timed tornado DDT.

Saints followed with a diving elbow drop from the top rope, but Williams refused to quit. The challenger continued to push forward with another rising knee and looked poised to steal the championship.

Instead, Williams blocked another tornado DDT attempt, ducked a lariat, and finally connected with the Trick Shot to score the decisive pinfall and retain the WWE Men’s United States Championship.

The celebration didn’t stop there. Lil Yachty returned carrying the same kendo stick that led to his ejection and unloaded on Ricky Saints before handing the weapon to Williams.

Moments later, Trick encouraged him to “hit the elbow,” and Yachty obliged by delivering a People’s Elbow to Saints, bringing the crowd to its feet to cap off the chaotic championship encounter.
