Among the matches announced for the Great American Bash is an NXT title showdown, where reigning Champion Tony D’Angelo will defend the title against the number one contender Naraku, who defeated Mason Rook to become the new number one contender.
This match will kick off the PLE on Sunday in Orladon as per General Manager Robert Stone, while the NXT Women’s title will headline the show. NXT Women’s Champion, Lola Vice, defends the title against Kendal Gray, who secured the title shot after defeating Kelani Jordan in a number one contender’s match.
Meanwhile, Tavion Heights defeated Jackson Drake in a number one contender’s match for the NXT North American title on the June 16 show. Heights will now battle the reigning champion Myles Borne on July 28.
WWE Women’s Speed Champion Wren Sinclair is also set to defend the title despite injury. Her opponent was decided via a tournament, where Arianna Grace defeated Izzi Dame to secure the title shot.
A singles match between Saquon Shugars and Dion Lennox is also set for the show. The former DakState members will settle the score inside the ring after they betrayed Shugars and kicked him out of the faction.
Another title match featured on the card will see NXT Women’s North American Champion Zaria defend the title in a rematch against former Women’s North American Champion Tatum Paxley.
Additionally, after Shiloh Hill cost Tristan Angels the Evolve title match against the reigning champion, Aaron Rourke, on the go-home show, a singles clash between the two was announced for the PLE. The attack was in response to Angels attacking Hill after he lost the Mr. NXT Pageant.
