The Cup has witnessed a total of eleven reigns
WWE NXT Heritage Cup is a professional wrestling championship created and promoted by WWE’s developmental brand NXT. The Heritage Cup Championship is a unique championship, which is traditionally a cup that is defended under British Rounds Rules.
The title was unveiled in September 2020 at NXT UK under the name NXT UK Heritage Cup. The title became inactive after NXT UK was disbanded. However, in April 2023, the title was reinstated in NXT by renaming it to NXT Heritage Cup.
British Rounds Rules
Matches under British Rounds Rules consist of six rounds with three- minutes per round & a twenty-second break between each round. Wrestlers need to score 2-out-of-3 falls to secure the win. The only way to win the match is by pinfall, submission, or by countout.
Once a fall occurs the round ends immediately, and the match will end in a wrestler scoring two falls. On the grounds of disqualification or knockout, the match will instantly end without two falls. If all six rounds are completed, whoever leads the falls wins the match.
WWE NXT Heritage Cup Legacy
The WWE NXT Heritage Cup has witnessed a total of eleven championship reigns and eight different champions. A-Kid/Axiom is the inaugural NXT Heritage Cup Champion. Naom Dar has the longest reign for the title with 341 days, however, only 292 days are recognized due to tape delay.
He also holds the longest combined reign with 790 days. Charlie Dempsey of No Quarter Catch Crew announced the “Catch Clause”, where any member of their faction can defend the title, but only Dempsey will be considered as the champion.
Current NXT Heritage Cup Champion
Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo is the current NXT Heritage Cup Champion. He defeated Tony D’Angelo (2-1) on the June 24, 2024 episode, which emanated from WWE Performance Centre in Orlando, Florida. Lorenzo is currently in his first reign and is the most recent champion to begin his title run.
