The NXT Women’s title will be on the line tonight.
The plethora of debuts in recent weeks continues to reshape WWE NXT; another in-ring debut is announced for tonight’s May 26 show, which will emanate from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. The NXT Women’s title will be contested tonight.
Additionally, the Men’s Speed Tournament will begin this week with the first match. Let us now take a look at what’s more in store for tonight, along with the timing and telecast details for tonight’s show.
Izzi Dame will finally get the title shot tonight as she battles the reigning NXT Women’s Champion, Lola Vice. While Dame usually holds the edge with the numbers games, tonight, the Culling (Shawn Spears & Niko Vance) are booked for a tag team match against the OTM (Bronco Nima & Lucien Price) and might be able to help Dame.
Despite Izzi and Vance’s protest, Spears reiterated that the move is necessary for their group to get back on top of both the men’s and women’s divisions.
On the other hand, after their backstage confrontation, Jaida Parker will take on Layla Diggs, the match will mark Diggs’ in-ring debut on NXT television.
After a surprise attack last week, Women’s Speed Champion Wren Sinclair will take on Kelani Jordan in singles action. On the other hand, Shiloh Hill will battle BirthRight’s Charlie Dempsey.
Additionally, as noted, the WWE Men’s Speed title tournament will begin this week with the first match between Dorian Van Dux and Sean Legacy. The winner of this match will advance into the next round and will face the winner of the match between Nathan Frazer and Romeo Moreno.
The winner of the tournament will then face the reigning Champion Lexis King. Tonight’s match against Legacy will mark Van Dux’s second in-ring appearance on NXT television.
The show will also likely address the fallout from last week’s show, which saw Zaria force herself into the NXT Women’s North American title scene, attacking both the reigning champion Tatum Paxley and the title challenger Lizzy Rain.
What also transpired next week was the DarkState (Dion Lennox, Osiris Griffin & Cutler James) turning on their own teammate, Saquon Shugars, and attacking him last week. Fans are now waiting to see how the storyline unfolds tonight.
