Women's Championship match & more set for WWE NXT next week (September 8, 2026)

WWE has announced a fresh Women’s Championship defense alongside a stacked Six-Man Tag Team match for next week’s episode of NXT.

WWE NXT’s road toward its next set of title challenges continues on September 8, with the promotion confirming that new Women’s Champion Kelani Jordan will make the first defense of her title, while a high-stakes Six-Man Tag Team match will help set the table for a future NXT Championship opportunity.

This week’s NXT is expected to emanate from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida, as per the brand’s usual weekly schedule, airing live on The CW in the United States.

Jordan captured the NXT Women’s Championship for the first time at NXT Heatwave on August 30, defeating Kendal Grey after sending her into an exposed turnbuckle and connecting with her signature split-legged moonsault.

Grey had entered the bout dealing with a storyline ear injury sustained during her NXT Underground win over Lola Vice earlier in August.

Kelani Jordan defends against Jaida Parker as Six-Man Tag fallout looms

Jordan’s first defense as champion comes against Jaida Parker, who has been pushing for a title opportunity of her own. Also official for the show is an NXT North American Championship match, with Jackson Drake putting his title on the line against Tavion Heights.

Elsewhere on the card, a Six-Man Tag Team match has been announced featuring Keanu Carver, Tony D’Angelo, Cruz Montana, EK Prosper, Mason Rook and Saquon Shugars, though the team pairings have not yet been revealed.

The stakes are significant: the winning trio will advance to a Triple Threat match on September 15, which will determine the No. 1 contender to Grayson Waller’s NXT Championship. Waller won the title in a Fatal Four-Way at Heatwave, defeating then-champion Tony D’Angelo along with Cruz Montana and Zilla Fatu.

More matches and segments could be added in the coming days as WWE continues to build out the card.
