WWE NXT (September 2, 2025): Women’s Speed Championship Tournament kicks off, Oba Femi & Ricky Saints in action & more set for next week

The August 26 episode of WWE NXT featured the aftermath of Heatwave 2025!
The August 26 episode of WWE NXT, which emanated from the WWE Performance Centre in Orlando, Florida, served as the fallout show from Heatwave 2025. The show featured the aftermath of the event and kicked off the build towards the upcoming NXT No Mercy.
In the first match of the show, Kelani Jordan defeated Blake Monroe, who tried to run away as Jordynne Grace arrived, but was chased back to the ring, where Jordan delivered the split-legged moonsault to pick up the win.
Lexis King defeated Myles Borne in the Blindfold match by using some underhanded tactics, while the Culling (Izzi Dame & Tatum Paxley) defeated the team of Kendal Gray and Wren Sinclair in a tag team match.
Furthermore, Ricky Saints defeated Josh Briggs with a tornado DDT and became the #1 contender to the NXT Championship. After the match, Darkstate (Dion Lennox, Osiris Griffin, Cutler James & Saquon Shugars) tried to attack Saints and NXT Champion Oba Femi, but were sent packing by former NXT Tag Champs, Hank & Tank (Hank Walker & Tank Ledger).
Additionally, Tyra Mae Steele defeated Alba Fyre, Chelsea Green attacked Tyra after the match and Travion Heights confronted her but was blindsided by Ethan Page. In the main event of the show, the team of Lola Vice, Sol Ruca, and Zaria defeated Fatal Influence (Fallon Henley, Jacy Jayne, & Jazmyn Nyx).
The Women’s Speed Championship Tournament will kick off next week

During the show, the promotion also announced multiple matches and segments for next week’s show in the build towards NXT No Mercy 2025. Ahead of their title clash at No Mercy, Oba Femi and Rick Saints will team up along with Hank & Tank (Hank Walker & Tank Ledger) to battle the Darkstate (Dion Lennox, Osiris Griffin, Cutler James & Saquon Shugars) in an eight-man tag match.
On the other hand, as announced by GM AVA at WWE Heatwave 2025, the Women’s Speed Championship Tournament will kick off next week, and the first round match will feature a clash between SmackDown’s Candice LeRae and TNA’s Xia Brookside.
Additionally, Lash Legend and Jaida Parker will lock horns inside the squared ring next week, following their backstage interaction where Parker mocked Legend for losing to Nia Jax.
