What is NXT Showdown?
It’s a crossover special between WWE’s NXT brand and TNA, airing as a special episode of NXT on October 7, 2025.
Why was it renamed from Invasion to Showdown?
Originally, the event was going to be called NXT Invasion. But due to backlash tied to sensitivities around the date October 7 (the anniversary of the 2023 Hamas attack) and use of the word “Invasion,” WWE changed the name to Showdown to avoid controversy.
