WWE NXT Showdown: Battle Royal; Matt Cardona & Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. in action & more set for next week (October 14, 2025)

This week’s WWE NXT was the ‘Showdown’ special featuring TNA stars!

The highly anticipated special show of WWE NXT Showdown emanated from the WWE Performance Centre in Orlando, Florida, on October 7.

In the first match of the show, NXT Tag Team champions DarkState (Osiris Griffin and Dion Lennox) battled TNA Tag Team champions The Hardys (Matt & Jeff Hardy) in a title vs title match. The Hardys defeated DarkState to capture the NXT Tag titles; they now hold both the TNA and NXT titles.

In the second match, Jacy Jayne, Lola Vice, Sol Ruca, and Jaida Parker from the NXT team battled the TNA team, which included Kelani Jordan, The IInspiration, and Mara Sade in the Women’s Survivor Series match, where Jordynne Grace was the special guest referee. Team NXT scored the win in the first Survivor Series match.

Furthermore, Ethan Page defended his NXT North American Championship against TNA’s Mustafa Ali, who got his deserved title shot after two years. However, Ali failed in his attempt as Page defeated him to retain the title.

In the main event of the show, Ricky Saints, Trick Williams, Je’Von Evans, and Myles Borne from the NXT team battled TNA‘s Mike Santana, Frankie Kazarian, Moose, and Leon Slater in the Men’s Survivor Series match with Joe Hendry as the special guest referee. Team TNA won in the main event to tie the score between the promotions at 2-0.

A battle royal next week will determine the #1 Contender for the NXT Women’s title

In the final moments of Showdown, NXT GM Ava and TNA Director of Authority Santino Marella held a meeting to discuss business. They agreed to hold a battle royal next week, featuring talent from both NXT and TNA. The winner will earn a title match for the NXT Women’s Championship currently held by Jacy Jayne at Halloween Havoc.

Matt Cardona is set to make his return to a WWE ring when he competes on next week’s episode of NXT. Cardona will battle Josh Briggs in a singles match. Additionally, AAA’s  Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. is also set for action next week as he will battle Lexis King in a singles match.
