The 9/17 episode of WWE NXT was one of the decent shows in recent times!
WWE successfully hosted the September 17, 2024 episode of WWE NXT live from Capitol Wrestling Center in Orlando, Florida, United States. In the final few weeks on the USA Network, NXT showcased some of the best matches and segments on the show including a contract signing and the arrival of the ‘Second City Saint’ CM Punk.
The show had a great reception from the WWE Universe and is also believed to be one of the best NXT shows in recent times. As the show received high praise, the reports reveal the total viewership of this week’s WWE NXT and also suggest that it broke the rival companies’ two big weekly shows’ viewership single-handedly.
WWE NXT crushes AEW Rampage & Collision viewership
According to Wrestlenomics, the September 17, 2024 episode of WWE NXT generated a total of 677,000 viewerships. This is 8% more viewership than the previous week (September 10, 2024), when NXT hosted its season premiere. With these big numbers, the 9/17 episode of NXT became the most-viewed NXT show since June 18, 2024. NXT has not only increased the viewership drastically but also crushed AEW Rampage & Collision viewership combined.
The September 13, 2024 episode of AEW Rampage had a viewership of 250,000 and the following night’s (September 14, 2024) episode of AEW Collision had a viewership of 268,000. Both combinedly have a total viewership of 518,000. With this NXT took the lead over Rampage & Collision taping viewership by 159,000 viewers crushing both the shows combinedly.
The main reason behind the drastic increase in viewership is believed to be the effect of CM Punk’s appearance on the black and yellow brand, which was on TV until the very end of the show. Punk had his live microphone session with Roxanne Perez & Giuilia. He also appeared during the final moments of the show, revealing himself as the special guest referee for the Ethan Page vs Trick Williams match.
Punk’s next WWE NXT appearance will be on October 1, 2024, where the show will be held in his hometown Illinois, Chicago, where he will be referring to the NXT Championship match. Will NXT break the multiple records on WWE on CW? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
