Ever since WWE’s control got changed, the company has been open for new changes and has been vigorous in their process to make the company globalized and more wealthier. The company was merged with UFC to form the TKO group, has been hosting and booking a number of international events, made new broadcast deals and hunting association with other promotions.
It was previously reported that the company is interested in extending the company with tie-ups with Japanese and Mexican promotions. Now an update from a Japanese promotion President reveals that WWE will soon be working together with a Japanese company.
WWE to tie-up with Pro-Wrestling NOAH
Yasuaki Okamoto has been recently appointed as the new President of Pro-Wrestling NOAH’s parent company, CyberFight Inc. The New President in his introductory press conference spoke about his goal to strengthen the relationship with WWE. The conference also confirmed that Keiji Muto has been appointed as a NOAH scouting advisor. Keiji Muto also known as The Great Muta is a WWE Hall of Famer, who got inducted in the Class of 2023, for his greatest accomplishments in Japanese pro-wrestling.
CyberFight also owns Tokyo Joshi Pro & DDT Pro-Wrestling, where both are in tie-up with All Elite Wrestling. It also kick-starts the rumor that even the AEW and WWE working together can’t be counted out.
It is important to note that Shinsuke Nakamura was granted permission to face Muta at NOAH during Muta’s retirement tour in January 2023. WWE has previously associated with TNA/Impact Wrestling by bringing TNA/Impact Knockouts Champion, Mickie James & Jordynne Grace to participate in the Women’s Royal Rumble match in 2022 and 2024. William Regal’s son and NXT superstar Charlie Dempsey was also sent to AJPW for a match In December 2023.
WWE has also brought a number of wrestlers from the Japanese Promotion in recent times. It is notable that Kairi Sane, Tama Tonga & Tonga Loa were brought from the Japanese Promotions to WWE. We also were able to witness Guilia in NXT during Stand and Deliver.
All these instances seem like the Stamford based Company & Japanese Promotions are more likely to collaborate in the near future and we could expect a lot of crossovers. Will you be excited to see some of the Forbidden Doors in WWE? Tell us in the comments below.
