In January 2024, WWE announced that WWE’s flagship weekly program, WWE Raw is sold for a ten year deal with the world’s leading entertainment service, Netflix for a whooping deal of more than $5 billion USD.
Netflix will be the exclusive new home of Raw in the U.S., Canada, U.K. and Latin America, among other territories, with additional countries and regions to be added over time. As per the new deal, Netflix will also be the home for all WWE shows and specials outside the United States, including Raw, SmackDown and NXT. Netflix will also be streaming the company’s Premium Live Events, including WrestleMania, SummerSlam and Royal Rumble. So when and where WWE hosts the Raw Netflix premiere?
When and where is the Raw Netflix premiere taking place?
At the Bash in Berlin post show, Cody Rhodes revealed that WWE Raw’s Netflix debut date will be January 06, 2024. Now a backstage report from WrestleVotes confirmed the date and revealed the potential venue of the premiere. WrestlingVotes revealed that the first show of WWE Raw on Netflix will be held at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, California, United States on January 6, 2024.
This will mark an end to WWE Raw’s 31 years journey from linear television for the very first time. There is a huge hype from the WWE fans and within the company as most of them expect more edgier content on the OTT platform.
The Intuite Dome is a big indoor multi-purpose arena, which primarily hosts basketball matches. It has a capacity to occupy more than 20,000 fans at the same time. This sets a huge expectation for the show and it is expected to be a pay-per-view worthy event.
