WWE has announced the opening slate of Money in the Bank qualifiers alongside a Women’s World Championship defense for next week’s Monday Night Raw.

WWE’s road to Money in the Bank officially begins next week, with the promotion confirming that both the Men’s and Women’s Money in the Bank qualifying matches will kick off on the September 7 edition of Monday Night Raw, along with a Women’s World Championship defense.

This Monday’s WWE Raw was taped at the Rocket Arena in Cleveland, Ohio, and delivered a stacked go-home show built around the World Heavyweight Championship’s number one contender’s tournament. The Usos were ambushed by Royce Keys and OTM before the show even got underway, drawing out a furious Jacob Fatu, who chased the attackers off with a steel pipe.

Elsewhere, Raquel Rodriguez retained her Women’s Intercontinental Championship against Sol Ruca with an assist from Lyra Valkyria, while Dragon Lee defeated Ethan Page to earn a shot at Chad Gable’s Intercontinental Championship. In the main event, Penta defeated his brother Rey Fenix in a hard-hitting finals bout to win the World Heavyweight Championship’s number one contender’s tournament, setting up a title clash with Roman Reigns.

Next week’s show marks Raw’s return to a live broadcast after back-to-back taped episodes, and it will emanate from the Legacy Arena at the BJCC in Birmingham, Alabama. WWE confirmed that qualifying matches for both the Men’s and Women’s Money in the Bank ladder matches will begin on the show, though the specific competitors have not yet been revealed.

The winners of the qualifying bouts across Raw and SmackDown will punch their tickets to the ladder matches at Money in the Bank on October 10 in New Orleans, Louisiana, where the briefcase winners will earn a championship opportunity of their choosing at any point over the following year.

Also announced for September 7 is a Women’s World Championship match, with Stephanie Vaquer challenging champion Liv Morgan. Vaquer enters the bout on the back of a statement win over Roxanne Perez in her in-ring return, while Morgan will be looking to fend off one of the roster’s fastest-rising stars.

Birmingham native and TikTok personality Matt Mathews is also advertised for a special appearance on the show.

Meanwhile, Penta’s clash with Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship, along with Dragon Lee’s Intercontinental Championship match against Chad Gable, has been confirmed for the September 14 edition of Raw in Mexico City.
