This week’s episode will serve as the fallout show from Backlash 2025!
The May 12 episode of Monday Night Raw is set to emanate live from the KFC Yum! Center in Louisville, Kentucky, U.S.A. The episode will serve as the fallout show from Backlash 2025, which culminated on May 10 in St. Louis.
The main event of the PLE saw John Cena defeat Randy Orton to retain the Undisputed WWE Championship, while Gunther put Pat McAfee to sleep. Lyra Valkyria and Dominik Mysterio both retained their respective Intercontinental titles. Additionally, Jacob Fatu retained the US title in the fatal four-way match.
The promotion has announced matches and segments for the fallout show, which will also see the developments that transpired at Backlash. Let us now take a look at the detailed preview for the May 12 episode of WWE Raw.
Matches & segments confirmed for WWE RAW (May 12, 2025)
- AJ Styles vs Finn Balor
- War Raiders (Erik & Ivar) vs American Made (Julius & Brutus Creed)
- Iyo Sky & Rhea Ripley vs Roxanne Perez & Giulia
- CM Punk to appear
- Jey Uso to appear
- Penta vs Chad Gable
- Gunther, Seth Rollins, Dominik Mysterio, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods are all listed as featured superstars
AJ Styles vs Finn Balor
In what has been dubbed as a dream matchup, Judgment Day’s Finn Balor will battle ‘The Phenomenal’ AJ Styles. Balor is looking to take care of the Styles problem for his Judgment Day stablemate and Intercontinental Champion Dominik Mysterio. On the other hand, Styles is looking to get a win to challenge Mysterio for the title.
War Raiders (Erik & Ivar) vs American Made (Julius & Brutus Creed)
As demanded by War Raiders (Erik & Ivar) last week, the former Tag Champions will battle American Made (Julius & Brutus Creed) in a tag team match; the winner of the match will challenge the current WWE World Tag Team Champions, the New Day (Xavier Woods & Kofi Kingston).
Iyo Sky & Rhea Ripley vs Roxanne Perez & Giulia
Following weeks of sneak attacks and confrontation, Women’s World Champion Iyo Sky will team up with Rhea Ripley to shut down the newcomers from NXT, Roxanne Perez and Giulia. Regardless of the outcome, the match is sure to put Perez and Giulia on the map among WWE fans worldwide.
CM Punk to appear
As announced during Backlash 2025, ‘The Second City Saint’ CM Punk will return to address the WWE Universe for the first time since WrestleMania 41, where Paul Heyman turned on him and then on Roman Reigns to align with Seth Rollins. Punk made his return last week, costing Rollins the World title match against Jey Uso.
Penta vs Chad Gable
As announced by General Manager Adam Pearce, El Grande Americano’s “acquaintance” Chad Gable will battle Penta in a singles match. El Grande Americano recently cost Penta the Intercontinental title match against Dominik Mysterio at Backlash 2025 and it now seems the promotion is focusing on building a storyline between the two.
Jey Uso to appear
World Heavyweight Champion Jey Uso is also set to make an appearance after he was sucker punched last week following his title defense, when Raw went off air by Logan Paul. Jey is set to defend the World title against Paul at the upcoming Saturday Night’s Main Event, and the two stars will continue to build towards their clash.
