WWE RAW Results, Highlights & Winners (April 22, 2024): Becky Lynch wins the Women's World Championship

Awesome Truth retains, Becky wins World title, an Imperium member is kicked out, Chad Gable turns heel, Priest-Jey confront & much more!!!
The April 22, 2024 episode of Monday Night Raw is officially over and it is one of the must watch episodes of recent times. Two championship were on the line and one new champion was crowned. The show carried hype for the upcoming Backlash and King of the Ring pay-per-views and new directions for the wrestlers were teased. Get to know what happened this week on WWE Raw, as we came out with the complete match summary, highlights, results and winner’s list of the show.
WWE Raw Summary & Highlights
Michael Cold & Pat McAfee
Both the Raw commentators kicked-off Monday Night Raw. They address crowning a New Women’s World Champion tonight by a Battle Royal in the main event. A total of 14 Raw Women’s Wrestlers were announced for the Battle Royal.
Main Event Jey Uso & Damian Priest
Jey Uso said that Backlash is just two weeks and he has lot to prove. He said that he have to beat Damian Priest, however the champion interfered. Priest remembers Jey destroying Priest, that’s why he want him to be in Judgment Day, but he stuck with Bloodline. Priest was proud to share the ring with Jey. Priest says that the title looks good on him.
Priest tried to leave the ring, but Jey want him to stay. Jey says that Priest is the leader of Judgment Day, only because Ripley is not here, but still says him as Dominik Mysterio’s B**ch. As Jey dropped the mic, JD McDonagh tried to attack Jey from the back, but he escaped. Jey tried to super kick JD, but he super kicked Priest.
World Tag Team Championship Match- Awesome Truth (C) vs DIY
Truth and Gargano started the match and both counter each other’s move. Miz got tagged in and they took Gargano down with a double shoulder throw and a double elbow drop. Ciampa got tagged in and Miz locks him with a Figure 4, but Gargano saves.. DIY took Awesome Truth out of the ring and Gargano hit a cross body on Miz before the commercial.
Back after the commercial, Truth hit Ciampa with a overhead suplex and tags Miz. Truth went for the 5 Knuckle Shuffle, but Gargano his a Superkick (HBK) and Ciampa hit a Pedigree, but Truth kicks the fall. DIY hit Meet in the middle, but Miz drags Gargano’s leg to break the fall. Awesome Truth delivered a Truth Crushing Finale for the win.
After the match, Miz, Truth and Gargano share sportsmenship, but Ciampa refuses to have handshake with them and left.
Backstage-The Judgment Day
Dominik Mysterio came wih the braces on his left arm. He brought Santos Escobar to fight against Andrade & Ricochet. Priest seemed to be frustrated by everyone of The Judgment Day, but somehow they need to handle business. Priest asks Escobar to take care of Dom’s business. He told Dom and JD to take care of their business, and not to interfere on his.
Imperium & The New Day
Gunther made his return. He said that he was not gonna address his loss to Sami Zayn at WrestleMania 40. He says that he elevated the title 666 days. He introduces himself and said that he walked with the big title, but it is lifted now. He thanked Sami and says that he was hunted, but he is now gonna be a hunter. He can do anything he wants. He confirms that he is entering the King of the Ring tournament. He warns every champion of the company, that they will be hunted by Gunther.
When Imperium tried to leave, New Day interfered them. Xavier Woods claims that he is the defending King of the Ring winner. Woods claims he will win it for the second time. Gunther says that he is a Clown King, and Woods says that it was Gunther and they asked him where is his title. Gunther wants Kaiser and Vinci to take care of them.
Tag Team Match- The New Day vs Imperium
Kofi and Kaiser started the match, where Kofi hit a code breaker and a drop kick. Vinci got tagged in, but Kofi chops him and tags Woods to hit him on the hand. Kofi gets tagged in and he hit a crossbody from the top rope. Imperium soon turned the tables and took Kofi in control with a double drop kick hitting his face to the ring post. Imperium is in control before the commercial.
After the commercial, Woods was powered up and took total control of Imperium. Vinci and Kofi got tagged in and Vinci hit Kofi with a vicious Clothesline. Kofi fights back and tags Woods in. The New Day hit their finisher and picked up the win.
Imperium Explodes
Gunther is frustrated with them. He threw his chair to the barricade and stared both of them to got backstage. Ludwig Kaiser turned on Giovanni Vinci. Kaiser brutally assaulted Vinci similar to how he took Kofi out months ago. Kaiser walk backstage to meet Gunther and said that he was the week link, as he already told him. Gunther is pleased with Kaiser’s actions.
Drew McIntyre & Sheamus
McIntyre came to the ring and the WWE Universe chant “CM Punk”. McIntyre sits like CM Punk and says that he don’t love them. He address his loss at WrestleMania 40 and on Raw after WrestleMania claiming Punk and Priest as the Coward. Drew McIntyre confirms his spot at King of the Ring tournament. Sheamus interfered him.
Sheamus said that Drew McIntyre dreamed of the winning the World Championship for so long and had his moment finally, but he made it disappear too soon. He says that Drew should have been champion now, but one hand CM Punk whopped his A*s.
Sheamus claims that it is his obsession and he was a banger when he last seen him. McIntyre trolls his weight gain, saying that he was banger after banger before his injury, but he is now a burger after burger. Drew McIntyre explains that it was the comments backstage, but Drew tries to defend him. Sheamus claims that he doesn’t care of what others saying, but Drew says he cares for him, as he is his friend. Drew says that he will have his back.
Sheamus vs Shinsuke Nakamura
The match began with Sheamus having the initial momentum, but Nakamura took him down with knee to the mid-section. Sheamus fights back and hit him with Ten Beats to the Bodhran. Sheamus hit Nakamura with the knee outside the ring. Nakamura countered Sheamus move, banging Sheamus head to the announcement table and landed knee to the back of his neck.
After the commercial, Sheamus took Nakamura down and went for the top rope, but Nakamura countered his move to hit a sliding Suplex. Sheamus fights back and hit white noise from the middle rope. Sheamus was distracted by McIntyre and Nakamura hit him with a knee. Both countered each others finisher and exchange knee strikes. Nakamura tried to finish him, but Sheamus hit him with a Brogue Kick for the win.
Backstage Interview- Sami Zayn
Sami Zayn was asked about how he handled Gable’s attack. Sami said that he is hurt and he is looking for Gable’s explanations. Bronson Reed confronted him asking for a title shot. Sami offers him saying any time, any place. Reed attacked him from the back and claimed that he will be the Next Intercontinental Champion. Securities separated Reed, but he splashed Sami.
Chad Gable & Alpha Academy
Chad Gable is getting booed. He addresses his actions backstage, saying that his actions are justified. Gable says that it should have been him, who should have main evented WrestleMania 40 and the one should have won the Intercontinental Championship. However he trained Sami and a bunch of bunch of losers (Otis, Maxxine & Tozawa). Gable slowly turned on fellow Alpha Academy members, ranting them infront of their face.
Gable is disappointed with them all. He wanted them to help him win the Intercontinental Championship. He wants Otis to say it loud and he said it. Gable walks alone backstage leaving Alpha Academy in the ring.
Andrade & Ricochet vs Santos Escobar & JD McDonagh
Andrade and JD McDonagh start the math with Andrade taking control. Escobar and Ricochet gets tagged in, where Andrade & Ricochet with the double team took him out. Ricochet with innovative offence fights Escobar, and he somehow managed to tag McDonagh. He hit Ricochet with a backdrop. Dom grabbed Ricochet’s lig and JD sent him and Andrade out.
After the commercial, Escobar hit Ricochet with the double knees. Ricochet fights back to tag Andrade. He is fired up taking McDonagh out, hit Escobar with a Dragon Screw. Ricochet tags in and hit him with a cross body from the top rope. Ricochet and Escobar with a cross body collision laid down and went to tag their partners.
Andrade hit Two Amigos on JD, but Escobar stopped him and both delivered a vertical suplex on him. Escobar and JD went to the top rope, but Escobar’s Hurricanrana landed Ricochet hit leg drop on JD. Andrade took Escobar out with a back of the elbow strike and his finisher on JD to pick the win.
After the match, Damian Priest attacked Andrade & Ricochet from the back. He hit south of heavens chokeslam on them and showed Dom and JD the right way to handle business. He says that he need anybody, but they needed him.
Backstage
Indi Hartwell and Candice LeRae were asked about their battle royal appearance, however a brawl broke out between Nia Jax and Liv Morgan. Securities tried to separate them. Becky Lynch grabs the mic from Redmon, asked Maxxine to prove her and walked to the ring for the Women’s World Championship Battle Royal.
Women’s World Championship Battle Royal
The match began with all targetting Nia Jax and Piper Niven. Everyone fight for themselves and Candice was the first to get eliminated by Maxxine. Indi tried to eliminate Maxxine, but Maxxine eliminated her.
After the commercial, Chance and Carter Zoey and Maxxine with a team work. However Baszler and Zoey eliminated them. Nia Jax eliminatrd Ivy Nile swinging her on the ring post. Maxxine fights Nia Jax with back to back to back kicks to the back of the head, however Jaz sent her down.
Becky Lynch eliminated Piper Niven, and Nuven dragged Lynch out through the bottom rope. She hit a Cannon Ball on Becky and cleared the table to place her over that. Meanwhile Nia Jax tried to eliminate Chelsea, and Niven drags Jax out. Nia Jax hit a Chokeslam on Niven landing her over Becky Lynch on the announcement Table.
She then hit Niven with a Samoan Drop over Becky. While referees were distracted with Jax’ attack Chelsea got eliminated, but she entered the ring again. During the commercial, Jax broke the announcement table hitting a powerbomb on Lynch.
Zoey Stark and Shayna Baszler eliminated Chelsea Green and Natalya. Nia Jax eliminated Zoey and Shayna. It is down to the final Three- Liv Mirgan, Nia Jax and Becky Lynch. All the three were down, with Liv hitting Code breaker on Nia and Lynch hitting a Backbreaker on Liv.
Jax took both down with a couple of Samoan Drops. Jax sent both to the apron, but they fought back to the ring. Liv hit a vertical suplex on both and went for a double Annihilator, but Liv and Lynch with a Code breaker and Leg Drop eliminated Jax.
Down to two, both took the fight to the apron exchanging hands. Becky hit the Manhandle Slam on Liv to eliminate her to become the new Women’s World Champion. Lynch went on to celebrate with WWE Universe and Raw comes to an end.
Raw Results
- Awesome Truth defeated DIY to retain their World Tag Team Championship.
- Gunther returned
- The New Day defeated Imperium & Giovanni Vinci is kicked out of Imperium.
- Sheamus defeated Shinsuke Nakamura by pinfall.
- Andrade & Ricochet defeated Santos Escobar & JD McDonagh.
- Becky Lynch wins the Battle Royal and became the New Women’s World Champion.
