The G.O.A.T. of pro wrestling bids farewell to the Red brand!
The show started with a recap of last week’s show, where John Cena defeated Dominik Mysterio to capture the Intercontinental title and become a Grand Slam Champion in WWE.
Back in the arena, Cena made his entrance to kick off the final Raw of his career, amid deafening “CENA CENA” and “THANK YOU CENA” chants. The 17-time World Champion pointed to Alicia Taylor, who made the iconic intro for the last time.
Cena picked up the mic as “THANK YOU CENA” chants continued. He thanked New York fans and then noted that it’s the last time they can talk together at MSG and on Raw, stating that it’s a very important moment for him.
However, before he could continue, Dominik Mysterio interrupted him. Dirty Dom stepped into the ring, welcomed by a loud chorus of boos. He stated that nobody wants to hear what Cena has to say and then claimed that last week Cena was handed the title shot, just like everything he has been handed.
Dirty Dom continued stating that he has fought everything he has and asked for a rematch for his Intercontinental title. Cena stated that he needed to do one thing first, which is to ask the crowd. Cena, all amped, was ready to go, but Dirty Dom said no and then continued stating that while Cena did things his way, they would now do things his way.
Dirty Dom calls for the title rematch at Survivor Series in San Diego in his hometown, Cena accepted the match without hesitation, but then stated that he told the world that he is going to wrestle in his final match and he sees an opponent, so for tonight he asked Dirty Dom to forget the WWE IC title and battle Cena right there and then without the title.
The Judgment Day’s music hit as Finn Balor and JD McDonagh arrived to back up Dirty Dom, who stated that Cena is going to get his ass beat, and the three then started beating down Cena. Sheamus darted into the ring to make the save, but they failed to do so.
Rey Mysterio then arrived to finally even the odds as the three veterans sent the Judgment Day packing. Cena stated that he has now got a team and they would love to fight, announcing a six-man tag team match. Referee stepped in and the bell rang as the Judgment Day members started to walk off, but Sheamus, Cena, and Mysterio brought them back into the ring for further beatdown.
Six-man tag match to conclude John Cena’s final Raw
Sheamus and Dirty Dom started the action, but fell prey to Judgment Day shenanigans after a good start. Balor and McDonagh exchanged tags, further punishing the Celtic Warrior, who managed to tag in Rey.
Rey started hot, taking down Balor and McDonagh, but Dirty Dom tripped him during a 619 attempt to shut down the momentum again. Dirty Dom continued the onslaught, delivering the Three Amigos on Rey. Mysterio fights back and manages to tag in Cena as the crowd goes wild.
Cena darts in to deliver the Five Knuckle Shuffle on McDonagh, “U CAN’T SEE ME,” and lines up for the AA, but JD rolls down and delivers a headbutt. Chaos erupts as every member steps into the ring, the Judgment Day takes over as McDonagh delivers a Moonsault, Balor delivers a Coup de Grace, and Dirty Dom delivers the Frog Splash.
The three go for the pin as Sheamus steps in to break the pin. Sheamus, Cena, and Rey line up the Judgment Day at the apron to deliver the Ten Beats to the Bodhren together. The beatdown continues as the three veterans deliver the Five Knuckle Shuffle together.
Rey lined up Balor and McDonagh and delivered a double 619. Sheamus took out Finn with a Brogue Kick, and Cena capped it off with an AA to pin McDonagh and pick up the win in the final match on Monday Night Raw.
