LA Knight speaks; Lola Vice takes down Roxanne Perez; La Catalina debuts on Raw & more!

Following a historic show in Mexico City last week, Monday Night Raw returned with the September 21 edition. Live from the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Texas, the show addressed the fallout from last week as both LA Knight and Penta addressed fans.

On the other hand, the build towards Money in the Bank continued with the qualifying matches, while the ongoing storylines setting up matches for the upcoming PLEs also continued on the show.

WWE Raw Summary and Highlights

• Penta kicked off the show to speak how last week in Mexico City was the biggest night of his life. He acknowledged that Roman Reigns was the better man last week but made it clear that he wants another opportunity. Dominik Mysterio and JD McDonagh interrupted. JD said that Dirty Dom will win MITB, while Dom labelled himself as the king of the luchadors.
  • Penta clarified that he’s just the king of the as*holes and the only king of the luchadors is his father, Rey Mysterio. Dirty Dom and JD attacked Penta, who retaliated and sent the two stumbling out of the ring.

• Backstage, Jacob Fatu warned The Usos that they were locked in with the 946 and that making the first move would be a mistake. Solo Sikoa appeared waving a white flag, urging them to work together against 946. The Usos demanded that he acknowledge them as Captains and Roman Reigns as his Tribal Chief.
  • Sikoa refused, declaring he was back to the drawing board, while Fatu warned The Usos that they had just made a major mistake.

• IYO SKY vs La Catalina vs Roxanne Perez – Women’s Money in the Bank Qualifying match: Roxanne Perez pinned Iyo Sky to win the match and secure the fourth spot in the ladder match. Meanwhile, the match marked AAA Reina de Reinas Champion La Catalina’s main roster debut.

• Backstage, LA Knight approached Solo Sikoa and questioned why he was talking to his brothers again. Knight advised Sikoa to keep a low profile, noting they both had major opportunities ahead once they got past Money in the Bank, while jokingly adding that Sikoa surely wouldn’t cash in on him. Sikoa assured him he wouldn’t do that, and the two embraced.
• LA Knight arrived to address the attack on Roman Reigns and the MITB title clash. He acknowledged the fact that Reigns is possibly the greatest champion of this generation, if not of all time, but vowed to become the new World Heavyweight Champion in New Orleans.

• Backstage, Byron Saxton interviewed Je’Von Evans about MITB when The Vision then interrupted. Bron Breakker sarcastically congratulated Evans on qualifying while declaring that Money in the Bank belonged to him. Evans floated the idea of a clash, pointed out that he’s outnumbered, and then slapped Breakker across the face and took off. Breakker held the group back from going after Evans.

• Bron Breakker vs Je’Von Evans: The match ended in a disqualification win due to the Vision’s interference. Post-match, the Vision attacked Evans when Oba Femi arrived to even the odds and settle some score. Femi took down the Vision single-handedly before helping Evans over the ropes as he took down the Vision once again.

• 946 (Royce Keys, Bronco Nima & Lucien Price) sent in a promo where Keys declared that they were done firing warning shots, stating that the line had been crossed and that no one was safe.
• The Judgment Day (Dominik Mysterio, JD McDonagh, Liv Morgan, Raquel Rodriguez, & Roxanne Perez) arrived for a promo with JD making it clear that his dad is not a Funko Pop and he has a very normal-sized head.
  • Liv then spoke, calling her championship loss as the “Santiago Screwjob.” Becky Lynch interrupted to claim responsibility for Morgan losing the title, asserting that she deserved first dibs at a championship opportunity. Stephanie Vaquer then arrived, announcing that she would speak with Adam Pearce to secure a title match for both Liv and Becky.

• Lyra Valkyria delivered a promo complaining that teaming with Bayley had taken a year off her career, noting that Money in the Bank was supposed to be her opportunity to advance. She questioned how she was supposed to get ahead while Bayley was still around, ruining her chances.
• Bayley vs Lyra Valkyria: The match marked Bayley’s in-ring return for the first time since the July 18 SNME. However, Valkyria picked up via a roll-up, handing Bayley another loss in the ongoing feud.

• Backstage, Chad Gable approached Dragon Lee and offered him a rematch. Lee declined, stating that his sole focus was on Money in the Bank. Ethan Page then interrupted, complaining that Gable was actively avoiding him. Gable denied this, explaining that he preferred to give opportunities to those who actually earned them.
• GM Adam Pearce welcomed the newest member of the Raw roster, Lola Vice. The former Women’s NXT Champion spoke about her journey, noting that she’s here to show that she’s championship material. Roxanne Perez interrupted Vice, talking trash and noting that she’s levels above her. Vice retaliated with a spinning backfist as Perez fell. Pearce separated the two women to conclude the segment.

• Backstage, Bron Breakker crossed paths with Paul Heyman. Heyman warned him that Oba Femi was still breathing, calling it “bad, bad, bad” for The Vision. Breakker said that he was still waiting, adding that this reality was “bad, bad, bad for everyone.” When a surprised Heyman asked, “Everyone?”, Bron confirmed the statement before walking away, leaving a visibly confused Heyman squinting after him.
• Backstage, the 946 (Royce Keys, Bronco Nima & Lucien Price) were beating down a dazed Solo Sikoa before throwing him in the boot of their car. 946 drove off as the Usos and Jacob Fatu tried to chase them. The three of them argued as LA Knight arrived, and Fatu said that he was trying to warn them about the 946.

• Dominik Mysterio vs Dragon Lee vs Penta – Men’s Money in the Bank Qualifying match: Adam Pearce announced Penta as Solo Sikoa’s replacement after the attack. Penta pinned Dirty Dom to win the match and secure the fourth spot in the ladder match.
