Liv Morgan retains; The Vision attacks Oba Femi again & more!

WWE Raw returned with the September 7 show from the Legacy Arena at the BJCC in Birmingham, Alabama, marking the brand’s return to a live broadcast after back-to-back taped episodes.

The edition served as the fallout show from WWE’s first-ever Sunday Night’s Main Event in Atlanta and also featured a World title match. The qualifying matches for the men’s and women’s Money in the Bank ladder matches also kicked off on the show.

WWE Raw Summary and Highlights

• The Usos (Jimmy & Jey Uso) arrived in the building carrying sticks as they searched for 946 (Royce Keys & OTM).
• The Vision (Bronson Reed, Bron Breakker, Logan Paul, Austin Theory, & Maxxine Dupri) kicked off the show and celebrated Reed’s return at the start of the show. Reed stated that The Vision, rather than “The Ruler,” were in charge of making the decisions on Raw. Akira Tozawa interrupted them to set up a match against the returning Otis.

• Austin Theory vs Otis: Bronson Reed attacked Otis mid-match, causing the match to end in a no-contest. Akira Tozawa tried to aid Otis, but the numbers game meant another brutal beatdown. Oba Femi then marched down to the ring and attacked the Vision. However, the numbers game once again took over as Breakker and Reed delivered another brutal beatdown.

• Backstage, The Usos asked Jacob Fatu to grab a weapon and join them in the ring so they could call 946 out. Fatu questioned why they wanted to do it. When the Usos asked if he was no longer a killer, Fatu pointed out that 946 had nothing to lose. After 946 had spilled both Usos’ blood last week, Fatu said he understood exactly how they operated.
  • Big Jim said he had time that day and wanted to get his hands on them, but Jey asked Fatu to call the play. Fatu told them to take things low and slow, explaining that their next move had to be their best one yet. He then suggested they head to the locker room so he could lay out the plan in detail.

• Backstage, Becky Lynch spoke with Stephanie Vaquer ahead of the Vaquer’s Women’s World title match. Becky offered to help but made it clear that she wants a title shot if Vaquer wins the title. Vaquer turned down the offer, and Lynch told her to enjoy losing.
• The Miz & Kit Wilson attacked comedian Matt Mathews. Bron Breakker then came out to spear both Miz and Wilson ringside, before stepping into the ring to spear Mathews.

• Bron Breakker vs Ethan Page vs Rey Mysterio – Money in the Bank Qualifying match: Breakker pinned Mysterio to qualify for the Money in the Bank ladder match.

• Backstage, LA Knight spoke with GM Adam Pearce and made it clear that he wants the winner of Roman Reigns vs Penta. Pearce said that they would sort everything out after Mexico City. Solo Sikoa then arrived and said that he wanted to deal with 946. Knight explained that he was currently focused on Roman Reigns and suggested they let the Usos handle 946, then step in afterward.
  • Sikoa said he wasn’t willing to wait, but Knight stressed that they needed to be smart, choose the right moments, and capitalize when the opportunity presented itself. Sikoa respectfully disagreed, admitting that he wasn’t sure he could wait much longer.
• In a vignette, Penta spoke about the importance of his title match next week against Roman Reigns in Mexico.
• Lyra Valkyria vs Maxxine Dupri vs Sol Ruca – Money in the Bank Qualifying match: Bayley returned during the match to cost Lyra, pulling out the referee to stop the pin. Ruca capitalized on the interference to hit the Sol Snatcher on Lyra and qualify for the Money in the Bank ladder match.

• Post-match, Bayley launched a brutal attack on Lyra Valkyria and even took it ringside, clearing out the announce desk, but Lyra managed to scramble and escape through the crowd.

• 946 delivered a threatening promo aimed at Jacob Fatu. Backstage, Jimmy Uso wanted to confront them, but Fatu warned that was exactly what they wanted. Fatu acknowledged that he and the Usos hadn’t always been on the same page, but asked them to trust him this time. Fatu managed to convince the Usos.

• JD McDonagh vs Joe Hendry: Joe Hendry had a pre-match vignette making fun of McDonagh’s big head. Hendry defeated McDonagh to win the match after Je’Von Evans came out wearing JD McDonagh’s dad’s giant Funko Pop head, taking out Dominik Mysterio with a headbutt.

• Backstage, Liv Morgan confronted Becky Lynch, mocking her about whether she planned to leave early or follow Liv’s advice and go home to be a good mother. Morgan said she had briefly thought she would team with Stephanie Vaquer, but pointed out that Lynch had no friends and that nobody liked her or her husband.
• Backstage, The Vision approached Paul Heyman. Maxxine Dupri asked if he had seen what they had done to Oba Femi. Heyman congratulated Bronson Reed, embracing him and praising him for shaking up the WWE Universe on his return and making an even bigger impact on his second night back. He told Reed he was extremely proud of him.
  • Heyman then turned to Bron Breakker, who declared that Oba Femi was finished, his brother was back, and the future of WWE was secure as they had always promised. Heyman questioned whether The Vision truly ran the show and asked if Oba Femi was still breathing.

• Liv Morgan (c) vs Stephanie Vaquer – Women’s World Title match: Becky Lynch arrived to even the odds for Vaquer, taking out Raquel Rodriguez and chasing Roxanne Perez through the crowd. However, Perez handed the title before running away, and Morgan used it to attack Vaquer and followed it up with the oblivion to retain the title.

• Big Cass delivered a video promo, saying he had been leaving a trail of fallen opponents behind him. He added that he had come to win championships and believed he embodied everything a true champion should be.
• The Bloodline (Jacob Fatu, Jey Uso & Jimmy Uso) called out 946 (Royce Keys, Lucien Price & Bronco Nima) and challenged them to come to the ring. Instead, 946 were in the parking lot standing over several unconscious people.
  • Keys ordered OTM to start smashing the Usos’ car before they set it on fire. He reiterated that nobody was safe, as 946, as the show came to an end.
