WWE Raw Summary and Highlights

WWE Raw April 20, 26 Seth Rollins & Bron Breakker
(Courtesy: WWE.com)

The show kicked off with a segment between Roman Reigns and the Usos (Jey & Jimmy Uso) discussing Jacob Fatu. Back in the arena, Seth Rollins arrived to kick off the show and called out Bron Breakker, who appeared with Paul Heyman. Rollins accused Breakker of taking everything away from him, even when he handed the world to Breakker on a silver platter.

Breakker fires back, stating that Seth actually gave them his own battles to fight, and revealed that he took over The Vision because he only needed access to Paul Heyman. Rollins then challenged Breakker to a match at Backlash and declared that Breakker was not even the number two Steiner in his family.

Backstage, The Judgment Day (Liv Morgan, Raquel Rodriguez, and Roxanne Perez) ambush Stephanie Vaquer, with Liv reminding her that the title is hers now. In the first match of the show, Penta defeated Rusev, who attacked him after the match, and Ethan Page joined in, until Je’Von Evans rushed in to make the save.

El Grande Americano cut a promo about how important his mask vs mask match against “Original” El Grande Americano is, and what better way to prepare than to issue a challenge to Rey Mysterio. Women’s IC Champion Becky Lynch arrived next, recapping the WrestleMania week where she regained the title. She then issued an open challenge, which Iyo Sky answered.

Lynch tried to back out of it, but GM Adam Pearce made it official. Becky then retained the title, pinning Iyo due to interference from Auska, who then attacked Iyo after the match. Notably, #WeWantKairi chants erupted during the sequence.

“Original” El Grande Americano asks Rey Mysterio if he needs to watch his back in the mask vs mask match. Mysterio turns down the offer and says that he just wants both of them to respect lucha libre. El Grande Americano rolls up with Rayo and Bravo, talking smack to end the segment.

Furthermore, LA Knight crashes The Usos’ interview backstage, asking if they’re sitting back at the table again, and reminding Jey who he is and how he achieved it all, stating that Jimmy has the potential to do the same. Jey tells him to mind his own business, and Jim insists it’s a family matter. Knight responds that power has a way of corrupting people, and when that happens, it becomes his concern.

The Vision crashes Joe Hendry’s debut

Joe Hendry then performed his concert, declaring that Adam Pearce should fire Logan Paul. This brought out Logan and Austin Theory, who attacked Hendry, until The Street Profits (Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins) made the save.

Backstage, Joe Hendry thanked the Street Profits when Seth Rollins rolled up, looking to talk about last week. Ford and Dawkins stated that it wasn’t about him; it was about the Tag Titles. Meanwhile, Rey Mysterio defeated El Grande Americano, who tried to use the metal plate, but “Original” Americano stopped him, leading to a brawl after the match.

On the other hand, Asuka cut a promo on Iyo Sky, challenging her to a showdown at Backlash, while Oba Femi defeated Grayson Waller with ease before cutting a promo and revealing that Oba Femi’s open challenge will commence today.

In another backstage segment, Liv Morgan resumes the conversation with Roxanne Perez from before Mania when Vaquer attacked them. Liv stated that she wants to elevate Roxanne to the same height as her, and it will start with the Women’s Tag Team titles. As Liv left, Finn Balor appeared, warning Perez not to trust Morgan. Roxanne turned down the advice, stating that she has a match to prepare for.

In the final match of the show, The Judgment Day (Roxanne Perez & Raquel Rodriguez) defeated the team of Bayley and Lyra Valkyria, after interference from Liv Morgan.

Roman Reigns responds to Jacob Fatu

In the closing moments of the show, Roman Reigns appeared to answer Jacob Fatu’s Backlash challenge. Reigns talked about how WWE created the World Heavyweight Title to take his shine, but it didn’t work as it’s the man who makes the title, and he made the title relevant; he put it in the main event of Night 2 of WrestleMania.

Jacob Fatu interrupted Reigns, once again stating that he needs the title. Fatu also added that he spent 12 years suffering & being broke while trying to make it to WWE, while no one, including Roman, Jey, or Jimmy, reached out to him, only Solo Sikoa did and gave him a chance.

Roman fired back, stating that Sikoa couldn’t get a cup of coffee delivered, and then the OTC runs this place. He is then the one who signed off on his inclusion. Reigns then added that granting Fatu a title shot would be nepotism. However, before Roman could continue, Fatu attacked him, choking him with the Tongan Death Grip.

Roman managed to get some separation, only for Fatu to sink in the choke again, stating that he is going to take everything away from Roman. Fatu left the ring as Roman gasped for air, before announcing his answer and accepting the challenge for Backlash. Fatu yells into the camera that he is not waiting till Backlash and will see Roman next Monday.
