Lyra Valkyria retains, El Grande Americano takes out Rey Mysterio, Penta wins & chaos ensues after!

The Stamford-based promotion arrived in Minneapolis to deliver the April 07 episode of Monday Night Raw. This was the first episode of the Red brand back from the Europe tour, which saw three back-to-back heated segments between Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes and John Cena.

The 04/07 episode of Monday Night Raw emanated live from the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA. Storylines and feuds reached a boiling point as the promotion announced more matches for the WrestleMania 41 PLE, similar to the 04/04 episode of SmackDown.

The promotion announced multiple matches and segments for the show, including a Women’s IC title match, a World Tag title match, along with multiple appearances, and two singles matches. Get to know what happened this Monday, as we have the complete summary, highlights, results, and winner’s list for the 04/07 episode of WWE Raw.

WWE Raw Summary and Highlights

Iyo Sky – Bianca Belair – Rhea Ripley

RAW GM Adam Pearce entered the ring to address the Women’s World Championship situation, introducing champion Iyo Sky, followed by Bianca Belair and Rhea Ripley. With the three women in the ring, Pearce took responsibility for what happened last week but blasted them for their behavior.

Pearce then announced that Sky would defend the Women’s World title in a triple-threat match at WrestleMania 41 and presented the contract.

Belair spoke up, saying she did all the work while Ripley walked in and did as she pleased. Despite what people think, Belair isn’t afraid of Rhea, and she confidently declared she would win the title at Mania. “Rhea” chants filled the arena as Belair made her bold claim.

Ripley fired back, and as the tension built, Belair shoved her, handing over the contract for Ripley to sign. Ripley signed it, but not before throwing the contract at Belair. Sky tried to intervene, but Ripley pushed her aside.

Frustrated by the disrespect, Sky went to leave, but Pearce intervened. Sky then took out both Ripley and Belair with a missile dropkick from the ropes. She signed the contract, grabbed her title from the podium, and made her exit.

Liv Morgan, Carlito, Raquel Rodriguez, and Dominik Mysterio were in the Judgment Day clubhouse when Finn Balor walked in, voicing his confusion about why both of them were involved in the IC title match now. Liv chimed in, stating that it was better for two members to battle for the Intercontinental title, and it didn’t matter who won, as long as it wasn’t one of the two.

Balor mocked Dominik, saying people believed Mysterios didn’t have what it takes to win at WrestleMania and called him a loser. He then confidently claimed he would defeat Penta tonight. Balor left, and the rest of the Judgment Day consoled Dominik, who seemed unsure about how he would defeat Penta. Carlito assured him he would help him out that night, as the segment ended.

Lyra Valkyria (c) vs Bayley – Women’s Intercontinental Championship match

In the first match of the show, Women’s Intercontinental Champion Lyra Valkyria defended the title against Bayley as she looked to take back the only loss on her record since the title run started. The two stars continued for the control of the match with both trying multiple pin attempts.

The match saw both women push each other to the limit but in the end, Valkyria capitalized as Bayley let go of a full Boston crab and rolled up for a cover to win and retain the Women’s IC title. After the match, Valkyria offered to bury the hatchet, but Bayley initially refused and began to leave. However, she then returned and embraced the champion.

Cathy Kelly was backstage with Bert Kreischer when Chad Gable walked in with the American-Made, and the crowd erupted for the hometown hero. Gable explained that, unfortunately for Bert, he wasn’t competing tonight, but the Creed Brothers would be facing LWO alongside El Grande Americano.

Bert shot back, saying he wasn’t there to see Gable, as Otis walked in with the Alpha Academy and ripped off the iconic tee. Bert followed suit, much to Gable’s frustration, who called Otis an idiot before storming off.

Later, Cathy Kelly interviewed Ludwig Kaiser, asking about not having a WrestleMania match. Kaiser responded with a promo, sending a warning to anyone who might be watching.

Jackie Redmond was backstage with AJ Styles, asking him about his segment with Logan Paul last week and where he stands ahead of WrestleMania 41. Styles mentioned that he’s in a good place, having the opportunity to focus on what’s ahead.

At that moment, Karrion Kross walked in, accompanied by Scarlett, and asked what experience had really gotten Styles. Styles, now curious, asked what Kross wanted. Kross replied that he wanted Styles to win, but if he loses, they all lose.

Irritated, Styles responded that he would speak to General Manager Adam Pearce about setting up a singles match between the two for next week.

The Creed Brothers (Brutus & Julius Creed) & El Grande Americano vs LWO (Dragon Lee, Joaquin Wilde & Cruz Del Toro)

El Grande Americano joined forces with The Creed Brothers (Brutus & Julius Creed) to battle LWO (Dragon Lee, Joaquin Wilde & Cruz Del Toro). Rey Mysterio and Ivy Nile were ringside in opposite corners keeping a close eye on the action.

Cruz and Wilde showcased their high-flying skills, mesmerizing the audience. However, Americano had a trick up his sleeves as Nile handed him a piece of metal which he put in his mask. Rey Mysterio tried to intervene as Americano was on the top rope but got caught with a headbutt for his trouble.

Lee then joined El Grande Americano on the top rope and attempted to unmask him. Americano delivered a headbutt with the metal in his mask, followed by a splash. He then went for the cover, and the Creed Brothers, along with El Grande Americano, defeated LWO.

Jackie Redmond was with the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez, during the commercials, asking them about the gauntlet match on this week’s SmackDown.

Morgan and Raquel cut a promo, stating that no matter who wins, they will be embarrassed at WrestleMania. Morgan then asked Redmond to list the challengers and went on to roast each one of them. Morgan wrapped up the segment by declaring that they were the greatest Tag Team Champions!

Gunther – Jey Uso

World Heavyweight Champion Gunther made his entrance all suited up, sporting a red tie, looking amused and in a good mood. The Ring General stood atop the announce desk, holding the title high and posing in front of the crowd, who broke into “We want Jey” chants.

Gunther then stepped into the ring with a mic, continuing to flaunt the title. Before he could speak, Jey Uso’s music hit, and Jey made his entrance—though there was “No Yeet” today. Jey walked toward the ring as Gunther prepared, sleeves rolled up for a potential attack, while the crowd kept chanting “Yeet.”

The two came face to face, and Jey slapped the mic out of Gunther’s hand, removing his glasses. Gunther laughed, but Jey stared him down, picking up the mic as he fought back his emotions. The crowd erupted with “Usos” chants as Jey asked if Gunther talked to his mother and what those conversations were like.

Jey then revealed he had to tell his mother that his older brother was in the hospital, with 15 stitches across his head. He shared that his mother had asked why he didn’t protect his brother. Jey confessed that he was afraid of Gunther at the time, and while Gunther had him, it wasn’t enough—he dragged his family into it.

Jey went on to say that his brother’s blood was now on Gunther too, and he was furious. Gunther had violated his twin in front of him, and Jey admitted he no longer feared him.

He then sent a warning, telling Gunther to hug and kiss his family because, before Mania, Jey would pray for forgiveness for the man he was about to become. Jey ended his promo by declaring he would take the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania.

Backstage

General Manager Adam Pearce was with Natalya and Maxine Dupree as they discussed the gauntlet match on SmackDown that week. The two women then left. Rey Mysterio walked in, and Pearce mentioned that he had seen everything and was willing to give him a match against Chad Gable whenever he wanted.

Mysterio responded that he didn’t want Gable but rather the idiot who had been disrespecting Lucha Libre. Mysterio then expressed that he wanted El Grande Americano and suggested a clash between the two at WrestleMania. Pearce loved the idea and made the match between Mysterio and Americano official for WrestleMania 41.

War Raiders (Erik & Ivar) (c) vs The New Day (Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods) – WWE World Tag Team Championship match

WWE World Tag Team Champions War Raiders (Erik & Ivar) defended the title against The New Day (Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods) in the third match of the show.

The match erupted into chaos as Woods brought the steel chair into the ring, but Ivar intercepted it. However, Woods left the steel chair in Ivar’s hands and acted hurt as the referee looked on and called off the match.

The New Day won via DQ as Kingston attacked Ivar with the steel chair. Erik tried to intervene, but the numbers game took over as The New Day continued the punishment, taking out Ivar ringside.

Kingston and Woods then shifted their attention to Erik, looking to target the injured neck. Kofi climbed to the top rope as Woods placed Erik’s neck in the steel chair, but security and officials rushed in to make the save, and the crisis was averted.

Penta vs Dominik Mysterio

Following their last week tag team encounter, Penta and Dominik Mysterio battled in a singles match, Carlito was ringside to aid Dirty Dom. While Mysterio put on good show he failed to pin the luchador, and in the closing moments of the match, Dominik hit a Mexican Destroyer on Penta, followed by a 619 from the top rope.

However, Mysterio had his knees up, and Dominik kicked out at two after the cover. Dirty Dom picked up Penta, who fought back and lined up for the sacrifice. He attacked Dom’s left arm, followed by the Penta Driver to defeat Dirty Dom.

After the match, Carlito ambushed Penta, who tried to fight back, but the numbers game took over as Dominik and Carlito continued to batter him. IC Champion Bron Breakker’s music hit, and the dogs started barking in Minneapolis. Carlito tried to intercept but ate a supersonic flying spear.

Inside the ring, Dirty Dom attempted the same but received the same vicious spear. Another spear to Penta followed as Breakker stood tall inside the ring, flaunting the title. Just then, Finn Balor appeared, ambushed Breakker, and posed with the IC title.

Paul Heyman – Seth Rollins – CM Punk

Paul Heyman was inside the ring, as he listed the first item on his agenda for the night. Heyman declared his undying loyalty to his Tribal Chief, Roman Reigns. The Wiseman then expressed his loyalty to his best friend, CM Punk, and made it clear that when it came to WrestleMania, one thing was certain… But before Heyman could continue, Seth Rollins‘ music hit, interrupting him.

Rollins stated that tonight wasn’t about him but about Paul Heyman. He questioned whose side Heyman was on, asking if he would be the best friend to CM Punk or remain the special counsel and Wiseman to Roman Reigns.

The Visionary continued, mocking Heyman and pointing out that Reigns didn’t care about him or respect him. Rollins reminded Heyman about the time when Reigns lost the Undisputed WWE Title at WrestleMania 40 and left Heyman behind with the Bloodline, including Solo Sikoa.

He asked if Roman Reigns came to rescue Heyman, and reminded him that even CM Punk didn’t help him when he walked out of WWE. Rollins then dropped a bombshell, revealing that he was the first choice to join the original Bloodline at Survivor Series WarGames but declined, and Punk joined instead.

Rollins pointed out that Punk didn’t join out of loyalty to Heyman but for a favor. He advised Heyman to remove himself from the situation and let the three men battle it out for the future of the industry.

Rollins acknowledged that Heyman would never betray his best friend or his Tribal Chief and stated that if only there was a way to remove him from the situation. He then said it would be a privilege for him to do so right there, right now.

Rollins went on, describing what he would do, stating that nobody was coming to save Heyman—not Roman Reigns, nor CM Punk. He pushed Heyman and slapped him, asking if Heyman was worth that much. Rollins continued pushing Heyman, who fired back, shouting for him not to put his hands on him again.

Having heard enough, Rollins pushed Heyman into a corner, just as CM Punk entered, charging into the ring. The brawl was on, with both stars exchanging blows, Punk slammed Rollins onto the steel steps and was preparing for the stomp, but Rollins managed to escape into the ring. When Punk entered, Rollins landed a brutal stomp on him.

Heyman, now consoling Punk, apologized to him, but Rollins went on to land another stomp. He paused and stomped right next to Heyman instead, before picking up the mic and stating that Heyman now owed him a favor.
