WWE Raw Summary and Highlights
Naomi- Rhea Ripley – Iyo Sky
The newly crowned Women’s World Champion grabbed the mic as the crowd erupted in “YOU DESERVE IT” chants, but she wasn’t having any of it and made it clear she didn’t want to hear it. Naomi pointed out how everyone had assumed she was going to cash in on Tiffany Stratton, but no one saw it coming, which is why she was standing there as the new Women’s World Champion.
She mentioned how she was frustrated by the drama on SmackDown, and then went off on Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill, noting that she had the upper hand now. The Champion added that while she might be new to Raw, she strongly advised everyone backstage to “Proceed with caution.”
And then, Rhea Ripley made her entrance. Ripley stepped into the ring, facing off with the new Champion. Mami grabbed the mic and stated that she wasn’t cautious, but rather reckless and pissed, as her one goal going into Evolution had been to beat Iyo Sky and capture the title.
Ripley mentioned that Naomi had now made it to her list, and then the former Champion, Iyo Sky, walked out. Sky said she had entered Evolution as the Champion and warned Naomi that she would be taking her title back.
Naomi, not understanding what Sky had said, fired back that both of them would have to get in line. An argument broke out, prompting GM Adam Pearce to come out, congratulating and welcoming Naomi to Monday Night Raw.
He sympathized with Sky and Ripley, praising their iconic match, before mentioning the first-ever two-night SummerSlam. Pearce then announced a triple-threat match for the Women’s World Championship between Naomi, Iyo Sky, and Rhea Ripley!

Jackie Redmond was with Paul Heyman, Bron Breakker, and Bronson Reed. She asked Heyman about Rollins’ test results.
Heyman stated that it was too soon and that he didn’t have anything, reminding everyone that Rollins had until next June to cash in. He then emphasized that the relevant subject for tonight was Bron Breakker, who would go through everything and everyone to emerge as the #1 contender, punching his ticket to SummerSlam, where he would defeat Gunther to become the next Heavyweight Champion of the World.
Byron Saxton interviewed LA Knight, asking him about Seth Rollins’ injury, since Knight was battling him when the injury occurred. Knight stated that it was unfortunate Rollins busted his bad knee and wished him a speedy recovery. He added that he wanted to take Rollins’ dignity and hurt him, but didn’t get the chance because Rollins injured himself first.
Knight then shifted his focus to the gauntlet match that was happening later that night. He hyped up the crowd, acknowledging that while he wasn’t 100% at the moment, he was still ready to seize his opportunity and walk out as the number one contender.
Lyra Valkyria vs Bayley – 2 out of 3 count match (#1 Contenders match for Women’s IC title)
After their successful attempt at capturing the title at Evolution, Lyra Valkyria and Bayley battled in a 2 out of 3 count #1 Contenders match where the winner would face Becky Lynch for the Women’s Intercontinental title at SummerSlam. Kross stated that Zayn didn’t like the ultimatum he was given last week, which is why Zayn chose to take the easy way out. He then advised Zayn to stay home and accept the fact that “Kross is the truth!”
Nikki Bella vs Chelsea Green
WWE Hall of Famer Nikki Bella locked horns against Chelsea Green in her first match in seven years. The Secret Hervice (Alba Fyre & Piper Niven) were ringside during the match and tried to cause a distraction, but Bella fended them off to pick up a win and defeat Green. After the match, Fyre and Niven attacked Bella who was aided by Stephanie Vaquer, as the two celebrated afterward.
Winner: Nikki Bella
Grade: C

- This was Nikki Bella’s first match in seven years, and she was visibly dealing with some ring rust.
Backstage
The New Day was backstage with General Manager Adam Pearce, claiming that they were now in the third stage of grieving, which is bargaining. They then asked Austin Theory, who revealed multiple toupees.
Pearce responded by telling them they weren’t getting a title shot. He then added that they would have the chance to earn one next week and reminded them not to get too worked up. Naturally, Pearce then flipped the tray of wigs.
Later, Pearce ran into The Judgment Day and commented that Dominik must be feeling great. Rey Mysterio chimed in, saying it was just adrenaline and pulled out a doctor’s note.
Pearce told Mysterio that after tonight, he had called up the doctor for another evaluation. If Dominik got cleared, he’d have to face AJ Styles. Mysterio looked at the note, noticing AJ Styles in the corner, silently praying for Mysterio to get cleared. Dirty Dom joined in, praying too.
Jackie Redmond was with Rusev, congratulating him on his victory over Sheamus and asking what’s next for him. Rusev confidently stated that he was better and superior to Sheamus, adding that Sheamus knew it too. At that moment, Sheamus appeared, saying he had spoken to GM Adam Pearce, and the GM agreed that Rusev was a dirty, cheating bastard.
Sheamus informed Rusev that they would be having a rematch. Rusev shot back, saying he came for gold, not changes.
Paul Heyman & Bron Breakker interrupt Gunther
The Ring General, Gunther, stated that he was in a great mood today because, at SNME, he retired Bill Goldberg. The arena erupted with “GOLDBERG” chants, but Gunther, with a smirk, said he knew the crowd in Birmingham wasn’t the brightest and reminded them that Goldberg wasn’t here tonight.
Gunther then asked, “Who’s next for the Ring General?” He said that the answer would come soon, as five superstars would compete for his amusement to decide who would face him at SummerSlam. The Champion then stated that he didn’t care who won, because when the bell rang, they’d all be the same.
Bron Breakker then made his entrance, accompanied by Paul Heyman. Breakker came face to face with Gunther, and Heyman shook Gunther’s hand before introducing himself. However, Gunther cut him off, saying he had made his point and wasn’t interested in hearing what Heyman had to say.
Gunther tried to leave, but Breakker stepped into his path. Heyman then spoke up, saying that what he was about to say concerned Gunther. He stated that Breakker would win tonight and go on to take down Gunther at SummerSlam. He acknowledged it would be a difficult task but insisted that Bron Breakker was the next big thing, the big dog, and this was his year.
Heyman then reminded Gunther that he wasn’t just looking at another contender but at a Steiner. He cut a promo hyping up Bron Breakker, declaring that Breakker would be the new Champion at SummerSlam. Breakker then stepped aside, allowing Gunther to leave the ring as the Champion made his exit.
Gauntlet match (winner faces Gunther for World Heavyweight title at SummerSlam)
The first entrant of the gauntlet match, where the winner would get a World Heavyweight title shot at SummerSlam, was Bron Breakker. Penta was the #2 entrant, and the two rivals delivered a crazy back-and-forth match where Breakker managed to eliminate Penta. LA Knight was next, but met the same fate as Bron delivered another spear to his injured ribs to eliminate him.
Jey Uso was the fourth entrant in the match and even took some time to YEET before punishing Breakker. However, outside interference from Bronson Reed helped Bron deliver another spear to eliminate Jey. CM Punk was the final entrant as he capitalized on a beaten and bruised Breakker. Reed once again got involved when things got tough for Breakker.
However, Jey Uso came out to aid Punk and took out Reed, which helped Punk deliver the GTS and pick up the win to secure his title shot at SummerSlam. After the match, Reed and Breakker started beating down both men, which led to the highly anticipated return of Roman Reigns. The OTC cleared the ring of both Breakker and Bron, Reigns, Punk, and Jey stood tall as the show came to an end.
