Rhea Ripley – Iyo Sky

Rhea Ripley stepped into the ring, welcoming the crowd to Monday Night Mami. Ripley stated that now Raquel and Judgment Day were behind her, and with Evolution around the corner, she needed to get her priorities straight.

Iyo Sky’s music hit as the Women’s World Champion interrupted Ripley’s segment. Sky came face to face with Ripley as she picked up the mic, stating Rhea could not have Evolution without Iyo Sky! The Champion stated that Ripley was not on top, not without the World title, and because she had the title, Adam Pearce had told her that she could choose who to defend it against at Evolution.

Sky hyped up the crowd in Japanese before stating that she wanted to defend against the best, which meant defending against Rhea Ripley. The crowd erupted as Ripley fired back, stating that she had nothing but respect for Sky, but if that’s what Iyo wanted, she would not stop until she captured the title.

Ripley accepted the match, stating that what happened at Evolution was what Sky wanted, and made the match official for the Women’s World Championship at Evolution!

Styles adjusted his glasses, roasting Mysterio, before stating that he was going to beat Mysterio so badly that he’d need another doctor’s note. Styles got right in Mysterio’s face, but Mysterio quickly pulled up the note, pointing at it before leaving.

Jackie Redmond was backstage with Bayley as Redmond asked if Bayley was focused on another opportunity for the Women’s IC title. Bayley stated that while she should have been the new Champion, she wasn’t because of Lyra Valkyria, but it wasn’t going to change…

Lyra Valkyria appeared, asking why Bayley hadn’t responded to her texts. Bayley asked if Lyra was going to just interfere again and again, questioning if she wanted to apologize. Lyra stated that she did want to, before saying that it was personal between her and Lynch.

Bayley responded that it was also personal between her and Lynch. The two came face to face as things began to heat up. General Manager Adam Pearce intervened, separating the two before announcing a number one contender’s match between them later that night. The winner would battle Lynch for the title.

The promotion aired a clip from earlier showing Gable, who was talking to Ivy Nile and the Creed Brothers. Adam Pearce appeared, wishing Gable a speedy recovery. Gable stated that he was an Olympian and didn’t need luck.

Pearce jokingly asked if they would now be able to see El Grande Americano in action, to which Gable responded that Americano keeps a busy schedule but “you never know”. He then motivated Ivy Nile to take down Stephanie Vaquer, while the Creed Brothers asked what they were going to do without Gable.

RAW General Manager Adam Pearce and SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis were backstage discussing. Finn Balor and JD McDonagh arrived as Pearce and Aldis congratulated them on their title win.

Balor asked if they were discussing what to do with the Women’s Tag titles. The two GMs confirmed that they were, as Balor stated that he had an idea. He said that Raquel had worked very hard, and it would be unfair to strip her of the titles.

Balor floated the idea of finding her a new partner, specifically Roxanne Perez. He stated that it would work for everyone. Pearce said they would need to discuss it.

After some discussion, Pearce and Aldis agreed, stating that they would allow it. However, Perez and Rodriguez would have to prove they were worthy before announcing that they would have to defend the tag titles against a team from RAW, a team from SmackDown, and a team from NXT!

Nile stated that the first thing she would do was get herself into the battle royal. She stopped mid-sentence as they witnessed El Grande Americano walk past. Redmond asked for a comment, and Nile simply replied, “No comments,” before leaving.

Redmond then went to interview Sami Zayn, who was fresh off a win over Karrion Kross at Night of Champions. Gunther – Seth Rollins – CM Punk – LA Knight

Gunther picked up the mic, stating that he was here to talk about Goldberg, referencing Goldberg’s hype package from earlier. He remarked that, just like his matches, the promo was summed up in three minutes. He said he wasn’t afraid of what was left of Goldberg, a 58-year-old man trying to ride to success at his expense.

Gunther claimed that he was very capable of beating Goldberg in under three minutes, but that wasn’t his goal. His goal was to dominate and embarrass everything that was near and dear to Goldberg. He further stated that he had heard Goldberg didn’t like bullies, but he had run into the biggest bully.

The Ring General said that he would expose the fact that Goldberg never had it, as the fans chanted, “Does he still have it?” Gunther then raised the question of who was next for him when Seth Rollins’ music hit, and he appeared accompanied by Paul Heyman. Rollins stepped in alongside Heyman, who was holding a customized Money in the Bank briefcase. Heyman handed Rollins the mic.

Gunther roasted Heyman, commenting on how long he had traveled without achieving anything. Rollins chimed in, stating that they were there to congratulate Gunther, as he hadn’t met him since he won the title. Rollins continued, saying they didn’t go to cash in on John Cena but to stop CM Punk from becoming a Champion, something he would continue to do until there was breath left in him.

“CM PUNK” chants erupted as Rollins pointed to the briefcase, stating that he had told the world that it was going to be an assault on both World titles. Rollins congratulated Gunther as the two came face-to-face, but CM Punk’s music hit. The Second City Saint darted into the ring, and the brawl was on, with Gunther watching from the corner.

Rollins went for the Stomp, but Punk took him down. Seth retreated, running through the crowd, while Punk climbed the ropes, calling Rollins a “coward.” “CM Punk” chants filled the arena as Gunther grabbed Punk, but Punk shoved the Champion off, asking him to stay out of his business.

Gunther looked shocked as Rollins laughed near the crowd stands, mocking Punk. LA Knight then came from behind, attacking Rollins near the crowd entrance. The brawl continued as Knight relentlessly beat down Rollins, who fought back, and the two battled near the food stalls. Rollins threw popcorn in Knight’s eyes before running away.

Raquel entered, asking if they were replacing Liv just like that, pointing out that she was in rehab and would be back soon. Balor stated that he had suffered similar injuries and that it took time.

Balor then said that he just wanted Raquel to keep the title. Perez asked what that meant, and Balor asked for everyone’s votes to recruit Perez into the Judgment Day. Balor voted in favor, as did McDonagh, but Mysterio hesitated. He eventually gave in as Finn pressured him.

Raquel had no choice but to accept, asking Perez to hold up her end of the deal. Perez stated that she would start by exacting revenge on Kairi Sane. Balor was very pleased with how things had turned out.

Bayley and Lyra determined to get back at Lynch, more than the title tried to one-up each other, but multiple roll-up pin attempts in the end, the two finish the match in a weird spot.

Referee Jessica Carr informed later that the match had ended in a draw as both of their shoulder were down on the mat. Bayley and Lyra started the brawl after the match and continued it into the crowd as they battled near the production crate. Security and officials rushed in to diffuse the situation, separating the two.

Sami Zayn was being taped up by a medic when Penta appeared, asking if Zayn wanted to do this. Sami responded by doing the “Ciero Miedo” gesture, and they embraced before Zayn made the walk for the tag match.

Bronson Reed and Paul Heyman were backstage as Heyman got off the phone. Bronson Reed asked where the Visionary was, and Heyman replied that he was on a jet to put ‘Plan B’ in motion. Breakker and Reed managed to edge out a win in a close match and chose to attack Penta after the match as he was checking on Zayn. Breakker took out Penta with a spear as Reed was looking to inflict further damage with a tsunami.

However, Jey Uso rushed to their aid, taking out Breakker with a steel chair. He then stepped into the ring, battering Reed with jabs before sending him crashing outside the ring after throwing the steel chair right into his face.
