WWE Raw Summary and Highlights
Cody Rhodes – John Cena
John Cena stepped into the ring, picked up the mic, and asked if the crowd had something to say to him. The Glasgow crowd drowned Cena in boos as he fired back, pointing out that the crowd was there to do their worst. Cena warned the crowd that no one was safe and that he could point out anyone and rip them apart. He then recalled roasting the infamous kid last week in Brussels.
“F**k You, Cena!” chants roared through the ring as Cena smirked and asked who was worse: he, who told the truth, or the crowd, who used profanity and mocked a poor defenseless kid? Cena continued to roast the crowd, reminding them that he had listened to them for 25 years. “Shut the fk up” chants echoed through the arena as the 16-time World Champion stated that the crowd made it so easy because he had been learning from them, testing them, and rewarding them for playing along with their stupid nursery rhymes.
Cena went on to mock the crowd, calling them nothing more than an experiment, a rat in a cave, and pointing out their idiocy. He then reminded the crowd of April 2005 when he gave them the spinner championship, the greatest thing, only for the crowd to turn on him.
Cena negatively recalled how the crowd reacted. He called it one of the biggest mistakes of the fans’ lives and declared that he would ruin wrestling for every fan, every wrestler, and everyone. He claimed he would make history by winning his 17th World Championship, making the fans forget about Ric Flair.
The 16-time Champion revealed that he would win the title, retire, and take it home, leaving the crowd with a toy belt while the real one stayed with him. Cena declared that he would be the last real champion in WWE.
Cody Rhodes‘ music hit, and the American Nightmare appeared, with the crowd erupting in cheers as they hummed along to his theme. Rhodes asked Cena about what he had said and pointed out that Cena would have to take the title from him first before taking it from the crowd.
Cody stated that perhaps this was the most dangerous John Cena he had ever seen, but Cena had made a grave mistake by saying what he did in front of the lovely people in the building. Rhodes mentioned how hard he had fought for the title, just once, and asked if Cena wanted to take it. Rhodes laid the title flat on the mat, giving Cena the opportunity to take it.
Both stars threw down their mics and readied for a brawl as Cena and Rhodes sized each other up. Cena then left the ring amid boos from the crowd. Cody picked up the mic and the title again as the crowd erupted, continuing to boo Cena. Rhodes called on Cena, who turned around and walked toward the ring. Cody was ready as he removed his blazer, but Cena turned around and walked off again.
Rhodes picked up the mic and stated that he couldn’t let Cena do it. He needed Cena to see him, see the fans, and understand that his psychotic need to take the title did not outweigh his need to keep it. Cody then declared that just as Cena had walked out without the title that night, it would be the same at WrestleMania, and the same when Cena left WWE.
The Usos (Jimmy & Jey Uso) vs A-Town Down Under (Austin Theory & Grayson Waller)
Jimmy Uso joined Jey as his tag partner against A-Town Down Under, this was their first match together in one and a half years where they defeated Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa. Austin Theory and Grayson Waller put up a good fight in the beginning.
However, The Usos showcasing their co-ordination picked up the win as Jimmy and Jey worked together, Jey took out Waller with a vicious spear, followed by a 1D on Theory into the cover. The Usos picked up the win against A-Town Down Under.
After the match, Gunther appeared and took out Big Jim as he attacked Jey, who retaliated and turned it around. As Jey went for the spear, he tripped, which helped Gunther as he began battering Jey. Jimmy then stepped in with a steel chair, but Gunther cleverly rolled out of the arena.
Backstage
Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez were in the clubhouse as the two stars talked about Raquel’s IC title clash against the champion that night and the possibility of holding two titles. Dominik Mysterio walked in as Morgan asked him about his conversation with Finn Balor.
Morgan stated that Raquel was going to become a double champ and suggested that Dominik should talk to Finn again about adding a new member to The Judgment Day. Carlito walked in and floated the idea of wanting to challenge for the IC title. Morgan convinced Dominik to talk to Finn as she walked out with Raquel for her IC title match.
General Manager Adam Pearce was backstage with Rey Mysterio and Dragon Lee (LWO). Mysterio asked in disbelief what that was, as Pearce stated that it was the latest addition to Monday Night Raw. Mysterio pointed out that it was clearly Chad Gable.
Gable walked in, stating that he was not El Grande Americano and that he was sick and unable to compete, handing Pearce a doctor’s note. Pearce confirmed that the note was legit as Mysterio floated the idea of settling the feud in the parking lot.
Gable suggested the idea of Lee facing El Grande Americano that night. Pearce chimed in as Mysterio and Lee agreed, with Lee saying he would take the match. Lee and Mysterio left as Rey called Gable a “Jackass.” Gable asked for Pearce’s intervention, and the GM hit back, pointing out the absurdity of the doctor’s note.
Lyra Valkyria (c) vs Raquel Rodriguez – Women’s Intercontinental Championship match
One-half of the Women’s Tag Team Champion Raquel Rodriguez stepped into the ring with the hopes of holding two titles simultaneously as she battled the Women’s IC Champion Lyra Valkyria, Liv Morgan was ringside to provide Raquel with crucial tips and possible interferences.
However, the Champion after a tough fight was able to roll up Rodriguez into a cover to retain the IC title. After the match, Morgan and Raquel attacked Lyra as Bayley darted into the ring to Lyra’s aid. Bayley took out Morgan as she went after Raquel, who hit back and picked up Bayley. Lyra then saved Bayley, and the two teamed up to send Rodriguez out of the ring.

Jey Uso was backstage when Jimmy Uso walked in and tried to motivate Jey, calling him out for messing up earlier by slipping against Gunther. Jey stated that he knew he was 0-3 against Gunther and admitted that he didn’t know if he could beat him. Jimmy agreed, and Jey began to leave. Big Jim stopped him and hyped him up, saying that he knew Jey would beat Gunther, the man who had defeated Roman Reigns.
Jey left as Jimmy went on to confront Gunther and suggested a clash between the two next week. Gunther fired back, stating that he was ready as long as Jimmy didn’t trip like his brother. Jimmy hit back with a loud slap and left, while Gunther smiled at the camera
General Manager Adam Pearce – Iyo Sky- Rhea Ripley & Bianca Belair
Pearce was in the ring holding the contract for the Women’s World title clash between Iyo Sky and Bianca Belair. Pearce announced that Rhea Ripley was not in the match because the signature she put on the contract didn’t mean anything, as Belair had earned the right to call herself the number one contender, while Ripley only wanted a rematch on her own time.
He went on to say that, therefore, Ripley was not included. But before he could continue, Iyo Sky’s music hit, and the champion appeared. Sky stated that she didn’t care about the contract and would take on both of them because she was the champion.
The GM began to speak again, but Bianca Belair’s music hit as she walked in, stating that Pearce was right and that she earned the title shot by going through the Elimination Chamber to get to WrestleMania. Belair said that Ripley didn’t earn the shot, and as Pearce went on to speak once more, Rhea Ripley’s music hit, and Mami walked in.
Ripley stated that she didn’t care about WrestleMania or who she had to go through to get her title back. All she wanted was her rematch. Pearce hit back, asking, “Now you want it?” Belair chimed in, stating that Ripley had waited this long, so she could wait three more weeks to get her title shot against her.
Pearce now lost his cool and announced that Ripley would get her rematch, and the winner of that rematch would battle Belair at WrestleMania. Pearce left as Belair and Ripley continued to argue. Sky went to hit back, but Belair caught her and threw her onto Ripley, sparking a brawl.
Belair sent Ripley out of the ring and went to do the same to Sky, but Sky fired back and then took out Ripley from the steel steps. Belair now looked for the KOD, but Sky hung on to the ropes and landed on Ripley ringside as Belair posed with the World title inside the ring.
Backstage
Penta was backstage when Dominik Mysterio walked in and offered him a spot in The Judgment Day, stating that he could be the Intercontinental Champion tonight. He gave Penta time to think about the offer.
General Manager Adam Pearce was in his office when The New Day walked in. Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston demanded a tag title shot at WrestleMania, claiming they were the best tag team in the promotion.
Pearce stated that when The New Day was ready to actually prove they were the best tag team in the promotion, he would consider the offer. The New Day left as Bianca Belair walked in and asked who she would face at WrestleMania.
Pearce revealed that Belair would be the special guest referee for the Women’s World title rematch between Iyo Sky and Rhea Ripley.
Dragon Lee vs El Grande Americano
El Grande Americano replaced Chad Gable in his debut clash against LWO’s Dragon Lee who at the beginning of the match tried to unmask Americano but the referee stepped in, halting Lee’s advances. The luchadors delivered a high-octane action-packed match with both getting close pins.
However, in the end, El Grande removed Lee’s mask as Lee tried to keep his face covered, Americano locked in the Ankle Lock as Lee struggled to cover his face and eventually tapped to the hold. El Grande won in his debut match.
CM Punk
CM Punk‘s hit as The Second City Saint appeared to a chorus of “CM Punk” chants in Glasgow! Punk entered the ring, picked up the mic, and addressed the crowd, stating that he was not in a good mood. Punk said he was tired and a little jet-lagged due to the uncertainty of his road to WrestleMania.
He explained that he wanted to win the Royal Rumble but didn’t, then he needed to win the Elimination Chamber, but because he works with children like Seth Rollins, who screwed him at the Chamber PLE, it didn’t happen. The Second City Saint then cut a promo for the triple threat match, saying that the two men were in his way.
Punk claimed that Rollins had been sulking since his return and that Roman Reigns was worried his Wiseman (Paul Heyman) wasn’t just his Wiseman. Punk then revealed that there would be a contract signing between the three on Friday Night SmackDown in London.
He called out both Rollins and Reigns, telling them to fuel up their jets for Friday and reminded them that they had never been able to defeat him without each other’s help because they couldn’t. Punk ended the promo by reminding them that he was the one who brought them into the business, and he would be the one to take them out!
Bron Breakker (c) vs Penta – Intercontinental Championship match
In the main event of the show, Bron Breakker defended the Intercontinental title against Penta as Dominik Mysterio and Carlito appeared ringside to aid the potential new addition to the Judgement Day. Breakker and Penta put on a show in front of the Glasgow crowd as both battled scoring close pinfalls.
In the final moments of the match, Breakker fought back as he joined Penta on the top rope and landed the Breakker Steiner. He went for the cover, but the challenger kicked out. Breakker then called for the finish, looking for the spear, but Dominik Mysterio interfered. Carlito tried to attack Breakker, only to eat a brutal spear.
Dominik ambushed Breakker, taking him out with a cheap shot to the knee followed by vicious strikes. Breakker attempted to fight back, but Finn Balor appeared out of nowhere and ambushed Breakker with a steel chair. Balor handed the chair to Dirty Dom, who continued to pound on Breakker.
Dominik then handed Penta the steel chair, but Balor questioned what Mysterio was doing. Dominik called on Penta to attack with the chair, but instead, Penta handed Dominik the chair and took him out with a superkick.
Balor attacked Penta and then took out Breakker with the steel chair, followed by a Coup de Grace on Penta. Balor then picked up Mysterio and continued to point out that they were enough and that The Judgment Day didn’t need a new member.
