Cody Rhodes hyped up the MSG crowd, but before he could say anything, Stephanie McMahon’s music hit, and she made her way to the ring. Stephanie greeted the crowd, and Cody said he was surprised to see her there. McMahon responded that he shouldn’t be, as she is a McMahon and this is the house her grandfather built.

Rhodes asked what Stephanie wanted to talk about, and McMahon said that she wanted to discuss Cody, Randy, and WrestleMania, but warned that Cody might not like what she had to say. Stephanie added that she, Cody, and Randy are all multi-generational stars who understand the business.

While they have taken different paths, Cody chose the “golden path,” which she called commendable. She noted that Cody believes he can bring the best out of people, and often does, but insisted he cannot do that against this version of Randy Orton. McMahon stated that Cody needs to think like Randy, something his father understood better than anyone.

However, based on what she had seen so far, Cody is not his father. This version of Cody Rhodes, she claimed, cannot beat Randy Orton and has no idea who he is dealing with. Rhodes responded that the last thing he wanted was to be rude to her, but he knew everything about Randy Orton.

He said Orton had done violent things in the past that can’t even be shown today, some of them involving Stephanie herself and even his father. Rhodes made it clear that he is not a student, is not afraid of Randy, and is not walking into his first WrestleMania main event, adding that while he may not be his father, Stephanie isn’t either. Stephanie slapped Cody for the remark, saying she cares about him.

She warned that Randy is no longer just listening to the voices; he loves them and is listening to someone else. Until Cody can think like Randy, she said, he will lose the title. As McMahon went to leave, Cody grabbed her hand and turned her around, saying he had two words for her. The crowd chanted, “SUCK IT,” but Cody instead said, “Thank you,” before walking away.

Indights & Backstage Moments:

  • Backstage, IShowSpeed was asking Adam Pearce, looking for someone, when Danhausen showed up, and Speed immediately pleaded with him to lift the curse. Danhausen agreed, but demanded ten billion dollars, full rights to Speed’s streaming, and a personal assistant. Pearce tried to reassure Speed, downplaying the situation and mentioning that he had already arranged ringside seats for him, along with a special guest commentator for the tag team title match, which was LA Knight.

The Usos (Jimmy & Jey Uso) (c) vs The Vision (Logan Paul & Austin Theory) – Street Fight for the World Tag Team titles

With IShowSpeed seated in the front row and LA Knight on commentary, The Usos kicked off their title defense against The Vision in a brutal Street Fight, battering each other with kendo sticks, trash cans, and even tables.

Chaos erupted when Logan went over to his mother, who was seated beside Speed, and she handed him brass knuckles. Just as things escalated, LA Knight got involved, attacking Logan. In the scuffle, Logan tried to hold onto Speed, dragging him into the ringside. Knight whipped Logan into the ring post and went on to confront Speed, who had picked up the knuckles and accidentally knocked out Knight.

Back in the ring, Big Jim went for the dive on Logan, who caught him mid-way with the knuckles, knocking him out. Jey took out Logan with a dive ring-side, as Theory rolled over to pin Jimmy and capture the World Tag Titles ahead of Mania.

Winner & New: The Vision (Logan Paul & Austin Theory)

Grade: B

Match Insights & Backstage Moments:

  • This was the first Street Fight in over three years, Per Michael Cole.
  • The Usos’ fifth World Tag title reign came to an end just a few days shy of 100 in their second title defense.
  • The Usos also debuted a new theme song, which fans online hated.

Liv Morgan calls out Stephanie Vaquer & Roxanne Perez returns

Liv Morgan addressed Stephanie Vaquer, warning that she was done for. She said it was one thing to attack her, but going after her family, especially “Daddy Dom,” crossed the line. Liv claimed that Vaquer had no family here and called her out, questioning whether she was afraid to face her. She added that while Vaquer may be proud of where she comes from, where Liv comes from, it’s always on sight.

Morgan then took things further by insulting Vaquer’s mother, calling her “a trash wh*re,” which immediately provoked a reaction. Vaquer made her way out, marching straight to the ring. A brawl quickly broke out, with Vaquer taking Liv down with a kick before heading outside to grab a steel chair and bring it into the ring.

Liv tried to back off and plead with Vaquer when Roxanne Perez suddenly returned and attacked Vaquer from behind. Liv joined in, and the two began a brutal beatdown. Perez set Vaquer up on the ropes, and Liv followed it up by planting her with Oblivion onto the steel chair, before posing with the title to conclude the segment.

Grade: B+

Insights & Backstage Moments:

  • WWE finally realized they need to build for the Women’s World title match as well as other matches for Mania.
  • Backstage, IShowSpeed congratulated Logan Paul and Austin Theory and tried to explain himself, insisting he hadn’t meant to get involved. Paul warned Speed that he had made enemies, but reassured him that The Vision had his back. Paul Heyman then stepped in, echoing that sentiment and telling Speed he was in safe hands. He even suggested the new champions take him out to celebrate. GM Adam Pearce then arrived and told Heyman to check his email. Heyman jokingly asked if Pearce was asking him out, but Pearce dismissed the comment, telling him to just read the message.

The Irresistible Forces (Nia Jax & Lash Legend) (c) vs Bayley & Lyra Valkyria – Women’s Tag Team titles

The Irresistible Forces (Nia Jax & Lash Legend) defended the Women’s Tag Team titles once again against Bayley & Lyra Valkyria. Chaos erupted again as The Bella Twins (Nikki & Brie Bella) and Charlexa (Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss) arrived, leading to another DQ finish and a brawl afterwards with the challengers standing tall this time around.

  • Later in the show, WWE announced a Fatal 4-way match for the Tag titles involving the four teams.

Brock Lesnar & Oba Femi are ready to fight

The crowd erupted in “OBA” chants as Paul Heyman hyped up Brock Lesnar with his iconic introduction. Heyman stated that he was out there tonight to pontificate on the perils that awaited Oba Femi. Heyman recapped how Brock had been distracted by Seth Rollins two weeks ago and caught off guard by Femi.

Heyman said that last week, Brock hadn’t been dressed to fight but to have a “beast-to-man” conversation with Femi, yet Oba had decided to pick a fight when Lesnar wanted only a discussion. He added that tonight, Brock was dressed to fight, explaining that he had been authorized to let everyone know: when someone locks eyes with Brock to fight, that man “pisses all over himself.”

Brock then snatched the mic from Heyman and called out Femi into the ring. GM Adam Pearce arrived, stating that it wouldn’t happen tonight, as his job was to preserve the WrestleMania spot. Pearce brought out security to diffuse the situation and asked Lesnar to leave the ring. Just as he declared it wasn’t happening, the lights went out, and Femi arrived.

Femi began taking down security on his way to the ring. Pearce tried to stop him but was shoved aside, crashing into the barriers. Femi locked eyes with Lesnar before entering the ring, and the two faced off once again as MSG erupted.

Heyman exited the ring while Triple H darted in to calm the situation. Heyman tried to soothe Brock, but the two came face-to-face again. Triple H managed to create separation by instructing Heyman to get Brock out of the ring.

Brock stepped out, and Triple H stated that the two would settle their issues at WrestleMania. Lesnar picked up a steel step, but then threw it down and left as Triple H remained in the ring with Femi. Before leaving, Lesnar grabbed a security guard and slammed him with an F5.

Grade: A

Insights & Backstage Moments:

  • Triple H’s involvement further solidifies the massive push for Oba Femi, who has become a top name instantly after his main roster debut last month.
  • In a video promo, Finn Balor sent a message to Dominik Mysterio and called him for a clash at Mania. WWE later made the match official.

Penta (c) vs Kofi Kingston – Intercontinental title Open Challenge

After answering the open challenge on social media, Kofi Kingston battled Penta for the Intercontinental title and refused to take help from Grayson Waller, who was ringside. However, this cost Kingston as he was unable to pin Penta, despite catching him with the Trouble in Paradise. In the end, Penta delivered the Mexican Destroyer to retain the title.

After the match, Jackie Redmond joined Penta in the ring, asking him what could be in store for him and the title at WrestleMania. Penta stated that he had spoken with Adam Pearce, and it was finalized: his title would hang above the ring, and anyone who wanted it would have to climb for it. At WrestleMania, it would be a ladder match for the Intercontinental Championship.

Winner & Still: Penta

Grade: B+

Match Insights & Backstage Moments:

  • Je’Von Evans, Dragon Lee, Rusev, and JD McDonagh were announced as the participants in the ladder match moments later.
  • Backstage, Adam Pearce caught up with Paul Heyman, asking about Brock Lesnar’s whereabouts. Heyman replied that it was none of Pearce’s business and that the Beast had already left the arena. Pearce then asked if he had checked his email, but Heyman said he didn’t do email. He added that if Pearce liked that, he would certainly appreciate what he had to say in the ring.
  • During commercials, Dominik Mysterio cut a promo, addressing Finn Balor, costing him the title once again, and the WrestleMania clash.

Gunther attacks Seth Rollins

Paul Heyman mentioned The Vision capturing the World Tag Team titles, stating that he had tried to do charity by giving MSG a Brock Lesnar vs. Oba Femi moment – but the low-level manager, Adam Pearce, interfered.

Pearce then arrived, asking Heyman once again if he had checked his email. Heyman replied that he could see the future and that there was nothing Pearce could tell him that he didn’t already know. The GM informed him that the Boston PD had dropped all charges against Seth Rollins, something Heyman surely knew. Heyman acknowledged it, asking if he was supposed to be scared.

Heyman reminded everyone of who he was, the last GM and the last promoter standing from the 1990s. EC-DUB chants erupted as Pearce revealed that, as of now, Seth Rollins was medically cleared to compete. Rollins’ music hit, and he appeared with a steel chair, attacking Heyman from behind.

Rollins set up Heyman on the steel chair and went for the stomp, but Gunther dragged him outside and locked in a sleeper hold. Rollins struggled to escape, but Gunther refused to release the hold, putting him to sleep. Gunther then pointed to the WrestleMania sign, signaling a likely clash at the Grandest Stage of Them All.

Grade: B+

Insights & Backstage Moments:

  • Seems like Bron Breakker isn’t medically cleared to compete, despite being backstage at Raw per PWInsider.
  • That said, Gunther vs Rollins is a random matchup storyline-wise, but regardless, it’s guaranteed to deliver at WrestleMania.

Iyo Sky vs Raquel Rodriguez

In the final match of the night, Iyo Sky faced Raquel Rodriguez in a singles bout. Asuka and Kairi Sane appeared at ringside during the match, with Asuka shouting at Sane to attack Iyo. When Raquel came in with a boot, Iyo ducked, causing Rodriguez to accidentally send Sane flying off the apron and onto Asuka.

Asuka started bullying Sane once again, when Iyo came in flying with a dive, taking down Asuka. However, Rodriguez capitalized on the distraction, taking down Iyo with the Tahana Bomb to pick up the win.

Winner: Raquel Rodriguez

Grade: B

Match Insights & Backstage Moments:

  • The interference-laden finish further built toward the Sky vs Asuka showdown, hinting at a potential turn for Sane. However, Rodriguez remains absent from any ongoing storyline and could miss WrestleMania.
  • Backstage, in an interview with Jackie Redmond, Adam Pearce gave an update on Seth Rollins, stating that Rollins is cleared and is looking for vengeance. Pearce then made Rollins vs Gunther official for WrestleMania.

A brawl to close out the show

CM Punk Roman Reigns WWE Raw March 16, 2026

Roman Reigns asked the NYC crowd to acknowledge him, and the audience responded by throwing ones to the sky. Before he could say anything else, CM Punk arrived, and the brawl began. Reigns took Punk down with a jumping clothesline, but Punk countered by dumping Reigns over the ropes and bouncing him off the announce desk.

Punk then whipped Roman into the ring post as security and officials rushed in to try to diffuse the chaos. Reigns fought back with punches and even unloaded on the officials before picking Punk up. Punk fought back as well, and the two exchanged blows until security managed to create some separation.

Reigns took out another official with a spear, and Punk responded by lifting Reigns for a GTS, dropping him onto the OTC. Punk wasn’t done – he picked Reigns up again and slammed him through the announce desk. Chaos erupted all around as GM Adam Pearce checked on Reigns.

Punk then sat down in front of a dazed Reigns and continued unloading punches until officials finally managed to remove him. He climbed onto the barricade to gloat in front of the crowd as the show came to a close.

Grade: A+

Insights & Backstage Moments:

  • After so much talking, this is what this feud needed to get back on track.
  • From top to bottom, the show was stacked and never had a dull moment – it truly felt like a perfect Road to WrestleMania episode.Has WWE realized that it’s WrestleMania season, or was it just a one-time thing for MSG? That remains to be seen.
