WWE Raw Summary and Highlights

WWE Elimination Chamber 2026 Seth Rollins
(Courtesy: WWE.com)

The show kicked off with GM Adam Pearce, who called out Seth Rollins in order to have a much-needed conversation with him. A masked man appeared and climbed onto the commentary desk as Pearce stated that he knew Seth was here, and he should take off his mask.

Suddenly, more masked men appeared, flooding the ring as the one on the commentary dropped down and multiple of them stepped into the ring, running around before leaving one in the ring who removes his mask and it’s Seth Rollins underneath.

Pearce stated that he doesn’t like the Vision, but it isn’t his job to like or dislike people; his job is to be the General Manager of Monday Night Raw, and what Seth is doing recently is unacceptable, not because anyone believed the Vision didn’t deserve retaliation, but because Rollins had undergone surgery less than five months earlier.

Pearce added that Rp;; oms had been showing up, provoking the situation, and then leaving before things escalated, and so far it had worked in his favor. However, there was always the risk that one day he wouldn’t be able to get away. If that had happened, the consequences could have been serious.

Since he had not yet been medically cleared to compete, Adam wanted to handle the situation differently. His plan was to reach some sort of understanding and settle the matter through a conversation rather than letting things spiral out of control. The biggest concern was the possibility of the Vision getting its hands on Rollins while he was still recovering, which could mean the end of Seth “Freakin” Rollins.

Austin Theory and Logan Paul then arrived, with Logan stating that the end of Rollins is not a matter of if, it’s a matter of when, and the when is now, because they are going to beat the brakes out of Rollins’ masked minions. Theory adds that there is a bullet with Rollins’ name on it and tells him to consider it the worst-case scenario.

Rollins calls out his gang of masked men, who fill the ring as Rollins wears the mask and escapes amid all the confusion and camouflage. LA Knight then appeared, attacking Logan and Theory, before falling prey to the numbers game, until the Usos (Jimmy & Jey Uso) arrived, making the save.

Indights & Backstage Moments:

  • Backstage, Jackie Redmond caught up with The Usos, pointing out that they had recently found themselves aligned with LA Knight and Seth Rollins against the Vision. Jey responded that he didn’t care about Knight, Rollins, Logan Paul, or Austin Theory, saying they were all the same to him. Redmond then asked about the comments made the previous week by CM Punk regarding their uncle. Jey began to say that he didn’t have anything to add and went to leave, but Big Jim stopped him and suggested that maybe they did have something to say after all, before the two walked away.

Women’s Intercontinental title #1 Contenders Gauntlet match

In the first match of the show, Lyra Valkyria, Bayley, Iyo Sky, Raquel Rodriguez, Asuka, and Ivy Nile clashed in a gauntlet match to secure a title shot against the newly crowned Women’s Intercontinental Champion, AJ Lee.

The match began with Valkyria and Sky kicking off the action. Iyo gained the early advantage, pinning Valkyria to eliminate her, and soon followed it up by eliminating Raquel Rodriguez as well. However, Rodriguez launched a vicious post-elimination attack, creating an opening for Ivy Nile, who rushed in and pinned Iyo to eliminate her from the match.

Bayley entered fifth and quickly made an impact, pinning Nile to move one step closer to the title opportunity. The match eventually came down to Bayley and Asuka, who battled for the number-one contender spot.

Winner: Bayley

Match Insights & Backstage Moments:

  • Per Michael Cole, this was the first women’s gauntlet match on Monday Night Raw in over four years.
  • Backstage, Danhausen caught up with “Original” El Grande Americano on his way to the ring. He suggested that if he wore a mask alongside Americano, they could double their earnings and insisted on trying out Americano’s match. Americano quickly shut him down, saying it was disrespectful to grab a luchador’s mask and that he didn’t have time for such antics. and told Danhausen to leave. Danhausen then cursed the OG before disappearing.
  • During an interview with Byron Saxton, Natalya sent another message to Maxxine Dupri, only for Dupri to suddenly attack her from behind, delivering punishing blows until officials arrived.

Penta (c) vs El Grande Americano – Intercontinental title match

Penta cut a promo thanking his fans, family, and friends, adding that the title isn’t just for him but also for everyone who doesn’t give up, as he represents a fighter in real life. El Grande Americano then appeared instead of the “Original” El Grande Americano to steal the title shot.

However, the other Americano failed in his quest to capture the IC title as Penta pinned him after hitting a springboard Penta driver to retain the IC title in his first defense since capturing the title last week.

Winner & Still: Penta

Grade: B

Match Insights & Backstage Moments:

  • The last time a masked luchador held the Intercontinental title was Rey Mysterio in 2009.
  • A video promo aired where Stephanie Vaquer responded to Liv Morgan’s promo. Stephanie stated that Morgan had the talent to be truly great, but chose to hide behind dirtbags and cheats. She also added that she sees more in her than Liv sees in herself.
  • Backstage in the Judgment Day clubhouse, Liv Morgan brushed off Stephanie’s criticism. Dominik Mysterio suddenly appeared, asking if anyone had seen Finn Balor. JD McDonagh stood up to go look for Balor, while Dominik said that he had some business to take care of in the ring.

Finn Balor has been kicked out of The Judgment Day

Dominik Mysterio appeared, accompanied by Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez, demanding a rematch. The crowd erupted with boos as Dirty Dom insisted that Morgan should be the champion, while Penta walked around holding the title. Dominik then called out Finn Balor, explaining that he hadn’t wanted to settle things here, but Finn had forced him to air their dirty laundry.

Finn Balor entered with JD McDonagh at his side. Dirty Dom asked where Finn had been, noting that the Judgment Day had been searching for him, and expressed hope that Finn had spoken with GM Pearce to secure his rematch.

Balor admitted that Dom was right; if it weren’t for him, Dom would have been the champion already, and for that, he apologized. He explained that he had been trying to teach Dom a lesson. Balor reminded him that if he wanted to be the greatest Mysterio of all time, he had to learn to fight his own battles.

He reflected that he had spent the past two years trying to guide Dom, but the more he helped, the more he realized his father might have been right, that maybe Dom wasn’t just a spoiled little brat. Dirty Dom shoved Balor, and Finn responded by dropping him. JD created some separation as Liv and Raquel removed Dom from the area.

Dom tried to attack again, but Balor countered with a swingblade. As Balor went for another attack, McDonagh intercepted, and the Judgment Day began assaulting him. Mysterio brought in a bell hammer while Finn tried to fight back, but the numbers game overwhelmed him. Dirty Dom struck Balor with the bell hammer.

JD held Balor on the ropes as Dominik fitted the bell hammer into his boots and delivered a 619, followed by a frog splash. JD attacked with a steel chair as Dirty Dom climbed to the top rope again. JD placed the chair on Balor, and Dominik delivered another frog splash. The Judgment Day celebrated amid a chorus of boos as security and officials rushed in to check on Balor.

Grade: B+

Insights & Backstage Moments:

  • Well, this has been a long time coming, and WWE has finally pulled the trigger on this feud, which would likely end in a clash at WrestleMania.
  • McDonagh, siding with Dominik, needs a better explanation from WWE, as Balor has been instrumental in JD’s career.
  • Finn Balor’s tenure in The Judgment Day has officially come to an end after 1,372 days.
  • Backstage, Kofi Kingston told Je’Von Evans that he reminded him of a young version of himself and tried to recruit him. Evans seemed unsure, and Kingston reassured him that he didn’t need to decide immediately; he just wanted him to understand that he doesn’t have to achieve his dreams alone.

Oba Femi vs Rusev

Unlike his previous matches, Oba Femi suffered vicious opposition in the early going with Rusev, inflicting damage, both inside and outside of the ring. However, Femi recovered despite eating a Machka Kick, to deliver a fall from grace and pin Rusev to continue his undefeated streak on the main roster.

Winner: Oba Femi

Grade: C

Match Insights & Backstage Moments:

  • Backstage before the match, Jackie Redmond interviewed Bayley, who was accompanied by Lyra Valkyria by her side. Bayley expressed thanked Valkyria for her support, and Valkyria responded that Bayley deserved to be the next champion. Bayley spoke about how inspirational AJ Lee had been to her and how much of an honor it would be to step into the ring with her for a chance at a title she had chased since its inception. She added that if she were to win, perhaps she and Valkyria could run it back with the title on the line.

The Usos demand an apology from CM Punk

CM PUNK WWE RAW

CM Punk began by saying he wasn’t sure how the crowd would react to him after last week, but as the fans cheered, he fired himself up, acknowledging that some people were upset with his comments from last week, which had been labeled disrespectful.

He noted that Roman Reigns had never shown him respect in his career, but Punk vowed to make him respect the position he held. Punk explained that titles exist to determine the best, and the best defend them. He added that this particular title had been created because Roman had previously refused to defend it, but by defending it, Roman elevated the competition.

Punk then admitted that last week he had stooped to Roman’s level. At that moment, The Usos’ music hit, and Jey and Jimmy Uso walked in. Jey demanded that Punk apologize immediately. Punk questioned why Roman had sent his cousins to do his “heavy lifting.” Jey replied that nobody sent them and repeated his demand for an apology.

Big Jim interjected, clarifying that this wasn’t about Roman Reigns but about respect. He explained that he respected Punk, largely because Punk called himself the voice of the voiceless, and he can criticize Roman all he wants. However, last week Punk had criticized their uncle, a man with no voice. Big Jim once again urged Punk to apologize.

Punk acknowledged Big Jim was right, admitting that Sika didn’t have a voice, and while he wasn’t spiritual, he hoped Sika could hear him. He expressed that he considered the family friends and that their family connection meant a lot. Punk said he respected Sika, even though he didn’t know him as well, but he did know his brother, Afa.

He recalled how Afa had been generous when he drove to Allentown, Pennsylvania, and while he never claimed he worked for free, since Afa always made sure he had food, his real payment came in the form of knowledge.

It had been an incredible experience for him to ride in the back of a pickup truck with the legendary Samu, listening as Samu shared his wisdom and insights. Punk noted that everyone in their family had shown him respect, except for one son of a b*tch. He continued, stating that if Jimmy believed Sika could see and hear everything, he could see what a lying, conniving, backstabbing, egotistical, narcissistic, plastic politician his son Roman Reigns is.

Jey once again insisted that this wasn’t about Roman and demanded that Punk apologize. Punk finally said he was sorry. The Usos said that was all they wanted to hear, but Punk added that he was sorry Roman Reigns hadn’t apologized for treating them poorly, for disrespecting Dusty Rhodes, and for pretending to care when he didn’t.

Punk said that if Roman truly cared about the fans, him, or the company, Punk would be in the ring talking to him instead of addressing his young boys. Punk shoved the microphone into Jey’s chest, prompting Jey to shove him back. Punk attempted to attack, but Big Jim stopped him with an elbow. The Usos left the ring as Punk got to his feet, and the show ended.

Grade: A

Insights & Backstage Moments:

  • Punk reminded everyone that the World Heavyweight Championship was created because Reigns did not defend his titles. “This title in particular was created because Roman Reigns shunned championship responsibilities, and he refused to defend his titles.”
  • Another great segment, which adds to the layered build towards Mania, Punk not only riled up Reigns with the comments, but also reminded the Usos of old wounds at the hands of Roman.
  • Next week’s show featuring Roman is going to be even more explosive.
