Before Roman Reigns could say anything, Bronson Reed and Paul Heyman appeared. Reigns asked if Reed was just there to stare at him or if he had something to say. Heyman grabbed the mic, mentioning that he didn’t know who had been “Wisemaning” Reigns since he left his side.

Heyman then addressed the Dallas crowd, asking them to acknowledge their “Tribal Thief,” the man whom Reigns truly feared in his heart. He reminded Reigns that he needed a stretcher for the first time at Clash in Paris, despite his football background or his entire WWE career.

Reed took the mic from Heyman and continued the stretcher talk. Reigns shot back, stating that while Reed didn’t know his father and uncle, the “dumbass” next to him did. Reigns added that his father and uncle would’ve wanted to fight him now, challenging Reed to step into the ring.

Heyman tried to convince Reed not to take the bait, but Reigns called Heyman a coward, claiming that he knew exactly what Heyman was saying to Reed. Reigns insisted he was a level above them and that it would be his time soon.

Reigns told Reed to let him know whenever he was ready to fight. Heyman then announced that there would be a match between Reigns and Reed at Crown Jewel this Saturday, and it would be an Australian Street Fight. Reigns accepted the challenge, but as Heyman and Reed started to leave, Reigns insulted them, saying they were walking out like “bad guys” but were actually leaving like “bitches.”

Reed had heard enough and stepped into the ring, leading to a brawl. A Superman Punch sent Reed over the barricade. Reigns cleared off the announce desk as security and officials rushed in, but the brawl continued. Another Superman Punch from Reigns finally created some separation.

Grade: B

Backstage Moments & Insights:

  • Reigns and Reed will run it back once again at Crown Jewel, this time in a street fight.
  • Backstage, Asuka told Kairi Sane that she would be facing Iyo Sky one-on-one tonight. Kairi responded, saying she didn’t want to, to which Asuka slapped her across the face. She then told Kairi that the match was happening and that she better win.

Becky Lynch vs Maxxine Dupri

In the first match, Women’s IC Champion Becky Lynch battled Maxxine Dupri, the match was set up following their last week’s encounter backstage. Unlike their first encounter weeks earlier, Dupri took over in the early going, but Lynch slowly regained control, punishing Dupri. However, the taunting and showboating cost Lynch as Dupri got back in the ring, and Lynch was counted out while pandering to the crowd.

Winner: Maxxine Dupri via countout

Grade: B+

Match Insights & Backstage Moments:

  • This was an incredible match, proving how good Lynch really is. Becky kept the crowd invested with every near-fall, and nailed the expressions to truly sell the shock of the loss.
  • Maxxine has improved her in-ring game, which the fans in Dallas appreciated.
  • Backstage, Jimmy Uso was upset about Bronson Reed disrespecting their uncles, Afa and Sika. Jey Uso reassured him, saying they’d handle it. Roman Reigns stepped in, telling Jey that he didn’t need to focus on that, but rather stay hyper-focused on his opportunities. He then asked Jey who was talking at the top of the hour, and Jey answered, “CM Punk.” Reigns responded with a quick, “Not you?” before Jey stormed off to fix things. Roman then turned to Jimmy, saying he could hear and see everything, and asked what the issue was with Jey taking his advice.

Lyra Valkyria vs Roxanne Perez

Following last week’s developments, Lyra Valkyria battled Roxanne Perez, with Bayley in her corner. Raquel Rodriguez was in Perez’s corner. Roxanne targeted Lyra’s left arm throughout the match, making sure Lyra is unable to fully execute her moves.

With moral support and little actual support from Bayley, Lyra mounted a comeback, but got distracted when Rodriguez took out Bayley with a big boot. Lyra attacked Rodriguez, which gave Perez the chance to deliver a DDT on the floor, followed by the Pop Rox inside the ring to secure the win. After the match, Bayley grabbed hold of Valkyria and told her they had unfinished business.

Winner: Roxanne Perez

Grade: B

Match Insights & Backstage Moments:

  • Before the match, Bayley approached Lyra Valkyria backstage, asking if she could be in her corner for the match. Lyra hesitated at first but agreed, knowing she’d need backup with Raquel Rodriguez at ringside.
  • Jackie Redmond was backstage interviewing AJ Styles about his upcoming match with John Cena when Dominik Mysterio, accompanied by Finn Balor and JD McDonagh, walked in. Mysterio mocked Styles, questioning how he could possibly beat John Cena when Styles himself had never been able to beat him. He even pointed out that Rusev couldn’t do it either. Balor then asked if Styles had heard that he and McDonagh were interested in challenging for the World Tag Team titles. Styles responded by saying if it’s a threat he’d speak to GM Adam Pearce to set up a six-man tag match for later, before walking off.
  • Meanwhile, we got a quick shot of CM Punk walking backstage, as Rusev was seen arguing with Adam Pearce.

CM Punk returns

CM Punk soaked in the energy of the Dallas crowd and asked if they missed him. Punk then thanked them for their continued support of his wife, AJ Lee. He hyped up the upcoming Crown Jewel event, specifically mentioning the clash between Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins. Punk explained that he had been absent for a while, honoring a promise he made to Cody to stay out of his business.

He also revealed that he had been celebrating the Wrestlepalooza win with his wife. Punk recapped how he started the year by defeating Seth Rollins at the Raw Netflix debut and declared that he would end the year by defeating him again. Punk pointed to a fan’s sign calling for him to get the World Heavyweight title back. He promised to reclaim the title, stating that he would become the new World Heavyweight Champion.

Just then, LA Knight appeared, confronting Punk, stating that he still hadn’t received what he truly deserved- a reign as the World Heavyweight Champion. Knight agreed with some of Punk’s points but had a few issues. He reminded Punk that while he’s known for the famous “Pipebomb” moments, lately, he’s just been known for being a husband.

Knight clarified that this wasn’t a dig at Punk but pointed out that Punk was a “trash Champion,” having held the title for only five minutes. He also reminded Punk that Seth Rollins had pinned him at both SummerSlam and Clash in Paris. Knight added that while Rollins had never pinned him, Punk had never been the World Champion.

Punk fired back, questioning Knight’s status as a former champion, to which Knight responded that he had never been pinned by Seth Rollins and was the last person to pin Rollins. Jey Uso then interrupted, walking into the ring as Knight and Punk continued to argue off-mic. Jey stated that he was finally thinking clearly and reminded them that he was the one who never got his rematch. He claimed that he was the one who was truly next in line for the World Heavyweight title.

Knight shot back, reminding Jey that he had already lost the title, and while both Punk and Jey thought it was their time, Knight insisted it was his. He then mocked Jey, saying he’d never be Roman Reigns but that it was a good thing since Jey “sucked” at being a tag team wrestler. Jimmy Uso walked into the ring, and Knight continued to rant. But before he could say more, Jey superkicked him.

Punk asked Jey to get back in line and told Jey that he loved ‘him ‘Jey Uso’ but didn’t care for “little Roman,” before tossing the mic and preparing to leave. Jey went after Punk, but Jimmy stopped him mid-way and shut down another superkick attempt. Punk then took Jey down with a shot. Jimmy responded by taking Punk out with a superkick of his own. He then helped Jey to his feet, and the Usos walked out together.

Grade: A

Insights & Backstage Moments:

  • Before the segment, Penta was approached by AJ Styles and Dragon Lee backstage, with Styles asking Penta to team up with them and get his hands on Dominik Mysterio. Meanwhile, the camera cut to Bayley and Lyra Valkyria, who were attacking Raquel Rodriguez. Roxanne Perez quickly rushed in to join the fray, and the brawl intensified. Security and officials quickly swarmed the scene, trying to separate the chaos.
  • Iyo Sky delivered a promo where she expressed how Asuka had broken her heart, stating that they were no longer family. However, she was beginning to discover who her true allies were. Iyo promised that at Crown Jewel, Asuka would find out she wasn’t ready for what Iyo had in store for her.

Iyo Sky vs Kairi Sane

Iyo Sky went right after Asuka, before the match even began, and further took control of the match in the beginning. Sane, battling her emotions, mounted a comeback, delivering a nasty Alabama Slam, whipping Iyo on the apron.

Sky bounced back with a missile drop kick and countered the isane elbow attempt, but Asuka interfered as Sky dropped down to counter with a boot. Sane capitalized rolling Sky for a pin, while Asuka grabbed Sane’s hands to help her in the pin. After the match, Sane reluctantly delivered a vicious backfist and In-Sane Elbow to Sky as asked by Asuka, who enjoyed the show.

Winner: Kairi Sane

Grade: B+

Match Insights & Backstage Moments:

  • Sky took a nasty Alaba Slam from Sane as she was whipped neck-first onto the apron.
  • WWE has built another compelling storyline between Kairi Sane and Asuka, and when Sane finally turns on Asuka, the WWE Universe will erupt.
  • Becky Lynch had another breakdown backstage over her loss to Maxxine Dupri, while Seth Rollins stood by, casually checking his watch. Rollins then turned to Paul Heyman and asked what would happen if he didn’t beat Cody Rhodes. Heyman replied that if Rollins lost, he would lose everything. However, Heyman conveniently left himself out of the equation, which Rollins quickly called him out on. The Visionary pressed Heyman, asking at some point he would have to question why he chose Seth Rollins over Roman Reigns. He suggested that Heyman would eventually have to ask himself why he picked Seth instead of sticking with Roman.

AJ Styles, Dragon Lee & Penta vs The Judgment Day (Dominik Mysterio, Finn Balor & JD McDonagh) – Six-man tag team match

After a hot start from Styles, Penta, and Lee, The Judgment Day took control of the co-main event clash, isolating Lee and dominating him in their corner. A late hot tag to AJ Styles sparked a comeback, but the Judgment Day shut it down. In the closing moments of the match, Mysterio went for the 619, but Rusev stormed down to the ring.

Mysterio rushed out of the ring to grab his title as Rusev confronted him. Penta went to attack Dirty Dom, but instead took out Rusev, giving Mysterio the chance to escape. The distraction allowed Styles to capitalize, hitting McDonagh with the Styles Clash to secure the win.

After the match, Styles addressed the crowd, saying that he and John Cena didn’t need a storyline heading into Crown Jewel. Their rivalry was already legendary, and in Perth, they were going to leave everything in the ring.

Winner: AJ Styles, Dragon Lee & Penta

Grade: B-

Match Insights & Backstage Moments:

  • Before the match, Jey Uso was backstage, venting to Roman Reigns as Jimmy Uso walked in, and Jey immediately asked why Jimmy was out there when he was trying to run the play. Jey was frustrated, now having a tag match on his hands, and questioned if Jimmy was trying to protect CM Punk. He warned Jimmy to recognize which side he was on. Big Jim calmly responded that he was on Jey’s side, and they both knew it.
  • Jimmy then turned to Roman and told him that while Roman claims he sees and hears everything, so does he. He accused Roman of messing with Jey’s head and needed to realize that Jey wasn’t like him; he wasn’t cut from the same cloth. Roman replied, saying he knew Jimmy wasn’t hearing him right now, but he needed to listen. He explained that when Jey won the world title, he became more like Roman and less like Jimmy. Roman told Jimmy that if he really wanted to help his brother, sometimes the best thing he could do was get out of Jey’s way.

The Usos (Jey & Jimmy Uso) vs CM Punk & LA Knight

In the main event of the go-home show, CM Punk and LA Knight teamed up to take on The Usos after their skirmish earlier. The Usos dominated early, isolating Knight and using their tag team experience against the team, which was divided. A tag to Punk changed the course of the match, but Jey halted the momentum with a spear.

Punk managed to recover, with little help from Knight, and delivered the GTS; however, Knight tagged himself in to steal the pin and secure the victory in the tag team match.

Winner: CM Punk & LA Knight

Grade: B

Match Insights & Backstage Moments:

  • Per Joe Tessitore, this was The Usos’ 492nd tag team match together.
  • Before the main event, LA Knight was backstage, warming up, when CM Punk approached him. Punk told Knight that neither of them really wanted the match. Knight shrugged it off, agreeing that it was fine, but emphasized that they had to go through with it. He then made one request: “Just don’t get pinned.”
