WWE reportedly planning Rhea Ripley vs Dominik Mysterio match

Dominik Mysterio turned his back on Rhea Ripley at SummerSlam 2024

The fallout between ‘Mami’ Rhea Ripley and Dominik Mysterio has been one of the most talked about storylines among fans in recent times. Mysterio ended the on-screen relationship at SummerSlam 2024.

Dirty Dom ended the nearly two-year-long relationship as he betrayed Ripley in her fight against Liv Morgan. The fight was for the Women’s World Championship. Mysterio betrayed Mami to help Morgan in the match, this was Mami’s first loss since May 2022.

Ripley and Morgan already had an intense rivalry and the addition of Dirty Dom’s angle made this feud more personal. The betrayal left Ripley heartbroken and angry at the Women’s World Champion.

The feud has grown significantly following Ripley’s return after a three-month hiatus on the 8 July episode of Raw. Ripley has attacked Morgan and Dirt Dom multiple times since her return in July.

Rhea Ripley wants the WWE Women’s World title back

Despite her dominance, Rhea Ripley has been unable to defeat the Women’s World Champion. Morgan has also been aided in her fights by Mysterio. Morgan has also brought Raquel Rodriguez as her enforcer. Ripley has attacked Mysterio on several occasions but they have not had a match on WWE TV.

However, as per recent reports from WrestleVotes, the WWE is considering the possibility of booking a fight between Dominik and Ripley before the storyline fizzles out. WWE’s creative team has shown interest in booking the fight.

“I know it’s been brought up. Unfortunately, I don’t know how high it’s made it but there is a real desire on some level of creative to do this match before the angle fizzles out, yes,” WrestleVotes said.

Dominik Mysterio has also stated his intentions in fighting Mami previously, “I don’t think they’d book it but I’m here for it. Yeah (I’d do it), I mean, but let’s just leave it at that”.

Although intergender matches within the promotion are incredibly rare, there are still chances for this match considering the storyline and fan’s interest.
