WWE responds to Netflix's streaming fiasco during Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul fight
Netflix will be the new home for WWE Raw from 2025
WWE Monday Night RAW will premiere on the streaming giant Netflix from January 2025. The unprecedented contract, worth an estimated $5 billion, was inked earlier this year by the global streaming behemoth and TKO, WWE’s parent company.
Netflix was also the streaming platform for the highly anticipated Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul fight. The two heavy hitters clashed on Friday, November 15, at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, U.SA.
Boxing legend Mike Tyson returned for a fight against YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul after 19 years. Paul picked up a unanimous decision win against the legend in an eight-round fight.
During the streaming, many fans who were watching the fight card on the streaming giant complained of multiple technical issues including buffering and connectivity problems.
The fiasco raised many questions about the upcoming move of Monday Night Raw on the streaming platform. The Red brand show airs every week on Monday on cable traditionally but after January 2025 it will exclusively be streamed on Netflix.

Netflix will also stream WWE’s premium live events on their platform
Apart from the Monday night show, the platform will also host premium live events in the US and every other WWE show for international fans.
Amid fan complaints, the Stamford-based promotion has now reacted to the various streaming issues faced by fans during the Tyson vs Paul fight on Friday.
As per a recent report from Fightful Select, The promotion has revealed that they have had a conversation with the streaming giant regarding the issues and they have been assured that such problems would be kept to a minimum.
WWE officials were told by Netflix that ‘these issues would be kept to a minimum.’ Furthermore, a WWE executive mentioned that if the company was highlighting the viewership for the Paul vs. Tyson fight, it was a positive outcome.
The Stamford-based promotion has huge plans in store for its debut on the streaming giant platform. As per rumors ‘The OTC’ Roman Reigns is heading to the Red brand next year.
The Raw debut is expected to feature some of the biggest stars in the promotion including John Cena and The Rock. The addition of The OTC will only make the event even more glorious.
