WWE Royal Rumble 2025 Results & Winners: Charlotte Flair wins, DIY retain, Cody Rhodes decimates Kevin Owens, Jey Uso eliminates John Cena & more

The WrestleMania season officially begins!
The kick-off to WrestleMania season officially began as the Stamford-based promotion arrived in Indianapolis for the first PLE of 2025. The Royal Rumble 2025 PLE emanated live from the Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana.
As per tradition, the first PLE featured two Rumble matches in the men’s and women’s division along with two title clashes including for the Undisputed WWE title and the WWE Tag Team titles. The show featured jaw-dropping moments along with multiple returns from top stars.

WWE Royal Rumble 2025 Results
Women’s Royal Rumble Match
The PLE kicked off with the Women’s Rumble match as two former champions, Iyo Sky and Liv Morgan started the action. The match included appearances from NXT stars such as Roxanne Perez, and NXT Women’s Champion Giulia as well as former TNA Champion and WWE newest member Jordynne Grace.
The match also featured returns from multiple big names including Trish Stratus, Charlotte Flair, and Nikki Bella.

In the final moments of the match, Flair and former NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez battled for the shot at the title at the grandest stage. Flair eliminated Perez to win the 2025 Rumble and punched her ticket for WrestleMania.
Tomasso Ciampa & Johnny Gargano (c) (DIY) vs Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin (Motor City Machine Guns) – 2 Out Of 3 Falls Match for the WWE Tag Team Championship
The bell rang as Ciampa and Sabin started the action. The challengers were in control early as they battered Ciampa and Gargano. The action spilled outside the ring as Sabin took out the tag champions with a suicide dive through the ropes onto the announcer’s desk.
The tag champions took control of the match as they looked to pick up the first pinfall. Sabin rallied back, attacking Ciampa and attempting to tag Shelley, but Ciampa denied the tag. Shelley was eventually tagged in, attacking Gargano, thinking he had been tagged in. However, Ciampa was the legal man, landing a flying knee and going for the cover. DIY secured the first pinfall.
The action continued and Sabin was the legal man as he knocked Ciampa off the apron and shifted his attention to Gargano. The action spilled outside the ring as Sabin took out the tag champions with brutal leg chops, then followed up by going high from the top rope.
Shelley and Sabin double-teamed, landing the Skull and Bones to secure the second pinfall. The score was now tied 1-1. In the closing moments, Gargano went for the superkick but accidentally took out Ciampa. Shelley and Sabin capitalized on the opportunity, double-teaming for the finish.
Out of nowhere, Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford (the Street Profits) appeared, causing a distraction. Ciampa and Gargano met in the middle, and Ciampa went for the cover: One, Two, Three! DIY retained the tag titles against the Motor City Machine Guns.
After the match, Ford and Dawkins attacked Ciampa and Gargano with crutches, then picked up the tag titles as the tag champions lay flat at ringside.
Cody Rhodes vs Kevin Owens – Undisputed WWE Championship (Ladder Match)
Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens collided in the middle of the ring, with the champion softening up KO with multiple shots. Owens fired back, landing his own offense before rolling out of the ring to grab the ladder. Rhodes followed him, and the two stars battled it out ringside.
Rhodes attempted to power slam Owens onto the ladder, but KO reversed it and slammed the champion into the ladder. The match continued as KO sent Cody flying onto the ladder with a powerbomb, and the champion was down!
The challenger climbed the ladder once more, but Cody intercepted him, only to further suffer punishment at the hands of Owens.
Owens kept up the assault, climbing the ropes for a splash, but Cody joined him and went for his own attack. Owens turned it into a fisherman’s buster right onto the ladder. The champion was motionless as the referee and officials checked on him. Owens, too, was battered as officials checked on him.
Sami Zayn appeared to check on Kevin Owens and then went to check on Rhodes. Kevin tried to get up but crashed back down. Owens got back to his feet and went for the Stunner, but Cody turned it into the Crossroads.
In the final moments of the match, Owens landed a low blow and went for the package piledriver once again, but the champion turned it into an Alabama Slam right onto the ladder, which snapped upon impact.
Kevin lay motionless on the broken ladder as Cody climbed back into the ring. Cody Rhodes reached the top of the ladder, grabbed both titles and took them down to win the ladder match at the Royal Rumble 2025 PLE.
After the match, while Sami Zayn, General Manager Nick Aldis, and officials checked on KO, Rhodes celebrated his win in front of the crowd.
Men’s Royal Rumble Match
The men’s Rumble match closed the show as 30 men entered the ring for a chance at headlining WrestleMania. Rey Mysterio and Penta started the show as the two luchadors showcased admiration for each other.
The main event featured multiple appearances from megastars including CM Punk, John Cena, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and many more. TNA World Champion Joe Hendry as well as social media star IShowSpeed also made an appearance in the main event. Speed replaced Akira Tozawa who was attacked by Carmelo Hayes during entrance.

The main event became a spectacle as Roman Reigns, John Cena, and CM Punk stood in the middle of the ring, and it grew even larger when Seth Rollins entered the fray. Jacob Fatu and Braun Strowman also collided in the main event with Strowman getting the upper hand and eliminating Fatu.
Rollins and Reigns also came face to face as the crowd went ballistic. The two former Shield members argued in the middle of the ring, and what started as a shoving contest quickly turned into a punching battle. However, Punk spoiled the party as he eliminated both Reigns and Rollins, he was then eliminated by Logan Paul.
Punk and Reigns stared at each other in surprise as Rollins launched an attack and took out Reigns with a stomp on the concrete floor. Rollins and Punk started brawling as officials and security tried to diffuse the situation.
Rollins went after Paul Heyman, who begged for his life. Rollins then turned and charged, landing another stomp on Reigns right on the steel steps. He shifted his attention to Punk as officials rushed to control the situation.
In the final moments of the match, Cena eliminated Logan Paul as Jey Uso and Cena battled for glory. Jey landed a superkick, but Cena somehow managed to hang on, lifting Jey for the Attitude Adjustment. Jey slid back into the ring, pushing Cena off the edge and eliminating him.
With that, John Cena was eliminated, and Jey Uso emerged victorious, earning his ticket to WrestleMania at the 2025 Royal Rumble. After the match, Cena returned to the ring, embraced Jey, and the crowd erupted in applause.
