The Royal Rumble 2025 match has a few names who are the true dark horses that can surprise the fans with a potential win.

All roads in WWE will culminate at the Lucas Oil Stadium in Indiana, Indianapolis, for the 38th annual WWE Royal Rumble Premium Live Event. This is expected to be one of the biggest and most star-studded events, especially the Men’s Rumble match, with the line-up announced so far.

Apart from the big names like John Cena, CM Punk and Roman Reigns, who are heavily favoured to win the 30-man over-the-top-rope melee, there are some unexpected names who could pull a major shocker by winning the match. Here are the top five true dark horses in the 2025 WWE Men’s Royal Rumble match.

For the majority of 2024, WWE has been building Bron Breakker to become a top-tier and main-event calibre superstar on Monday Night RAW.

The current WWE Intercontinental Champion is set to compete in the 2025 Men’s Rumble match, and with his dominance and huge potential, he could become a standout competitor. Not only that, WWE can cement his rise by booking Breakker to win the Rumble match in shocking fashion.

4. Drew McIntyre

Drew McIntyre knows a thing or two about winning the Royal Rumble. He won the 30-man over-the-top-rope battle royal in 2020, which led to his ascension to main event status and winning his first World title at WrestleMania 36.

However, he has not been on the same level since losing his feud with CM Punk last year and trying to find his spot back at the top. While no one is favouring McIntyre to win, The Scottish Warrior can shock the WWE Universe with an upset and score his second rumble win.

LA Knight’s popularity began to take off in 2023 and reached to impressive heights in 2024 when he became the WWE United States Champion and had a remarkable run as champion.

But despite being a popular star and a hardworking talent, LA Knight is not on the list of fans for potential Rumble winners. The Megastar can take his in-ring acumen and popularity to surprise everyone and eliminate 29 other men to win his first-ever Royal Rumble match.

The year 2024 has been capped off with a major highlight. That has been the meteoric rise of Main Event Jey Uso. He has become one of the biggest and most popular WWE superstars on the RAW roster, selling merchandise and even won his first singles title.

Although the fans have expressed their desire to see Jey become a main event talent and move towards major World title opportunities, they are possibly not expecting to see it happen at the 2025 Royal Rumble. However, WWE can capitalize on Uso’s fame and popularity, pulling a major shocker by booking him to win this year’s Royal Rumble match and putting him on the path to major stardom.

1. Seth Rollins

Seth Rollins has been the true workhorse of WWE for over a decade. But 2024 has not been the year he had expected, losing the World Championship, being sidelined by multiple injuries and coming short in high-profile matches. But none can overshadow the work and star power Rollins has commanded for many years. This can lead to The Visionary, who is actually the real dark horse in the Rumble match and in WWE, shocking the fans with his second Royal Rumble win.
