According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Roman Reigns’ suffering the beatdown on this week’s Monday Night Raw and getting hit with multiple Tsunamis was a way to write him off television to go film the Street Fighter movie.
Saudi GEA Chairman Turki Alalshikh recently announced in a post that Saudi Arabia has secured a major entertainment event for 2027, sparking speculation that it could be WrestleMania 2027.
Backstage reaction to Brock Lesnar’s return
On his podcast via Fightful Select, Sean Ross Sapp revealed that some WWE talents are reportedly upset over Brock Lesnar’s return, describing their reaction as one of “disgust.”
While no specific names were mentioned, Sapp clarified that he hasn’t heard of any plans for a walkout and noted that such a scenario doesn’t appear likely at this point.
Vince McMahon attends Hulk Hogan’s funeral
Hulk Hogan’s (Terry Bollea) friends and family gathered to pay their respects on Tuesday, August 5, as the funeral for the Hall of Famer was held at Indian Rocks Baptist Church in Largo, Florida.
Former WWE CEO, Vince McMahon also attended the funeral. According to Fightful’s Jimmy Van, McMahon’s appearance was described as “like The Wizard of Oz.” During his speech, McMahon spoke for several minutes and even mimicked Hogan’s signature gesture, cupping his hand to his ear toward each section of the church, prompting one final standing ovation for the legend.
Van also reported a long list of notable attendees at the service, including Linda McMahon, Shane McMahon, Stephanie McMahon, Kevin Nash, Diamond Dallas Page, Jim Duggan, Jacques Rougeau, Rob Van Dam, Sean Waltman, Ted DiBiase, Brutus Beefcake, Paul Wight, Adam Copeland, Eric Bischoff, Jeff Jarrett, Jimmy Hart, Conrad Thompson, Tito Santana, Bam Margera, and Theo Von.
Original plans for Seth Rollins, Cardi B’s in-ring plans & Logan Paul on WWE’s Japan Tour
According to Dave Meltzer, the original plan was for Seth Rollins to win the World Heavyweight title at SummerSlam Saturday (Night 1) and then defend it against LA Knight on Sunday (Night 2). Meltzer adds that WWE ultimately decided to do the title match of this week’s Raw instead.
After her appearance at SummerSlam 2025, where she hosted Night 1 of the PLE, Cardi B spoke to Complex Sports and stated that she isn’t ready to wrestle for WWE yet, but will be ready one day.
On his Impaulsive podcast, Logan Paul asked WWE to be part of their upcoming tour of Japan. The Stamford-based promotion is travelling to Japan to deliver two shows during the tour: Friday, October 17, and Saturday, October 18. Both events will emanate from the Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo.
