These speculations and rumors are rife ahead of Monday Night Raw’s highly anticipated debut on Netflix. Many top stars are rumored to appear on the debut show.

In today’s edition of the rumor roundup, we look at some of the latest rumors among fans regarding Randy Orton and Becky Lynch’s WWE return, Samantha Irvin’s appearance at AEW, and more.

Becky Lynch’s WWE return

‘The Man’ Becky Lynch has been absent from WWE programming since her contract with the promotion expired in June 2024. Since then she has been a free agent and is enjoying life away from the spotlight.

However, Lynch‘s recent appearances for WWE and Netflix have fueled up speculations about her return. There is no confirmation about her appearance on the Raw’s debut show which is scheduled on January 06.

According to a report from WrestleVotes, Lynch’s comeback will play a significant role in shaping major WrestleMania plans for the former multi-time champion.

“Sources confirm Becky Lynch’s impending return will factor heavily into high-level WrestleMania plans as the road to Las Vegas begins.”

Update on Randy Orton

Randy Orton has been absent from WWE programming since November 2024, when he suffered an injury at the hands of his former friend Kevin Owens. Although, reports confirmed that Orton is not scheduled for an appearance at the debut show of the Red brand. Fans won’t have to wait longer for his return.

According to a report from WrestleVotes, Orton is anticipated to return to WWE television, either at the Royal Rumble or sometime before the event. The 2025 Royal Rumble PLE is scheduled for February 1 at the iconic Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Samantha Irvin & Beth Phoenix’s appearance at AEW

WWE Hall of Famer Beth Phoenix and former WWE ring announcer Samantha Irvin recently made an appearance backstage at AEW Dynamite: Fight for the Fallen, which has sparked a flurry of speculation among fans and pundits alike.

The unexpected visit has led to rumors about the two former WWE stars potentially joining AEW. Pheonix is married to AEW star Adam Copeland (EDGE), while Irvin is in a relationship with AEW’s Ricochet.

As per a report from PWInsider, there are no plans for either talent to join AEW at this time. Furthermore, Irvin is reportedly under a no-compete clause with WWE, which would stop her from appearing on any other wrestling or combat sports shows.

It’s also worth noting that Irvin has occasionally accompanied Ricochet to TV events. As for Phoenix and Irvin’s recent appearance, it’s possible they were simply visiting for the evening.

Jade Cargill is enjoying the holidays

One-half of Women’s Tag Team Champion, Jade Cargill was brutally assaulted backstage ahead of the Survivor Series 2024 PLE in November. This injury forced her out of action and she is currently enjoying life away from competition.

As per PWInsider, Cargill is currently enjoying a holiday break in Hawaii with her loved ones, and a date for her WWE return has not been announced.

John Cena vs Logan Paul

Earlier reports suggested that there is an interest in WWE to book John Cena against former United States Champion Logan Paul for the grandest stage in April. The 41st Edition of WrestleMania is scheduled for April 19 and 20, 2025 at Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada, USA.

However, further reports suggested that the idea has “met with resounding disapproval” from several people in WWE Creative. A new report from WrestleVotes has shed more light on the plans to book the two stars in a match.

On a Backstage Pass Q&A podcast, WrestleVotes mentioned that there is still mutual interest in a John Cena vs Logan Paul match, with WWE also showing interest, but noted it wouldn’t take place at WrestleMania.

They dismissed the idea of the match happening during Monday’s Raw on Netflix premiere, explaining that if it were to happen, it would be heavily promoted.

Alicia Taylor and Lilian Garcia shift brands

As per a report from PWInsider, the WWE broadcast team has undergone significant ahead of the Monday Night Raw debut on Netflix which is set for January 06.

Veteran announcer Lilian Garcia is set to transfer to the Blue brand to handle ring announcing for Friday Night SmackDown tonight. This means that Alicia Taylor will reportedly handle the announcement for the debut episode of Monday Night Raw.

With this change, Taylor joins Michael Cole and Pat McAfee, who were previously revealed as the commentary duo for Raw’s shift to the streaming service.
