In today’s edition of the rumor roundup, we cover the latest rumors among fans, including Drew McIntyre’s move to SmackDown, Charlotte Flair’s WrestleMania 41 plans, Alexa Bliss singing with Paradigm Talent Agency, new plans for NXT GM Ava, WWE Evolve, Custom WWE title for NFL and more.
Drew McIntyre’s move to SmackDown
‘The Scottish Warrior’ Drew McIntyre has been a hot topic for fans since his outburst following the Royal Rumble 2025 PLE. McIntyre didn’t make an appearance on this week’s episode of Raw and fans speculated that he will be appearing on SmackDown to kick off his feud with Damian Priest.
However, according to PWInsider McIntyre’s appearance on this week’s SmackDown is uncertain following his abrupt departure from the Royal Rumble. The reports also add that McIntyre and WWE have remained in contact and there are no significant issues between the two parties.
Since Priest has moved to SmackDown it makes sense for McIntyre to join the Blue brand. However, there is no clarity on the matter as of now.
Charlotte Flair’s WrestleMania 41 plans
Charlotte Flair made her return as announced during the women’s Royal Rumble match, she not only returned after a long hiatus but went on to win the Rumble match. However, fans were unhappy with WWE’s decision and instantly voiced their opinions.
Earlier reports suggested that Flair would challenge WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton at WrestleMania 41. However, according to recent reports from Dr. Chris Featherstone, there are a few modifications to this earlier plan.
As per Chris Featherstone on Backstage Pass, WWE’s current plan is to portray Flair as a heel in the lead-up to her WrestleMania match against Tiffany Stratton, a departure from the original plan which had Flair slotted as a babyface.
Alexa Bliss singing with Paradigm Talent Agency
Alexa Bliss made her highly anticipated return after almost two years of absence at the Royal Rumble PLE, where she took part in the women’s Rumble match. It was later revealed that she signed a five-year contract with the promotion.
According to a recent report from Deadline, Bliss has signed with Paradigm Talent Agency and has now joined fellow WWE stars who are Paradigm clients like CM Punk, Drew McIntyre, Tiffany Stratton, Damian Priest, and Liv Morgan.
New plans for NXT GM Ava
According to a report from WrestleVotes Radio, there are plans to give NXT General Manager Ava a bigger presence on television. The goal is to align her merchandise and character more closely with her father, The Rock, and to incorporate his “Final Boss” persona into her storyline.
“Creative has begun putting plans in motion for NXT General Manager and, of course, real life daughter of the Rock, Ava, to be featured more prominently on TV, as well as have merchandise and character ties to her father, alluding to his final boss persona.
We are told plans could include her playing off the final boss character on TV as a way to raise her importance. Ava, from all accounts is well-liked and could have a big future with the company.”
WWE Evolve & Nick Khan’s boxing venture
As per Dave Meltzer, WWE’s new show Evolve streaming on Wednesday night opposite AEW Dynamite is “not a coincidence”. Evolve is slated to premiere on March 5, 2025, at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT, exclusively on Tubi, with a new episode dropping each week on Wednesdays.
Meltzer also stated that WWE President Nick Khan is anticipated to play “a major part” in a “new boxing venture that UFC President Dana White and Turki Alalshikh are supposedly starting.” Many competing promoters have already gathered in Las Vegas to discuss “how they are going to combat this.”
Turki Alalshikh is the Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority in Saudi Arabia and is involved in the venture.
Custom WWE title for the NFL
WrestleVotes claims that “WWE and the NFL have collaborated on a project that will showcase a custom WWE Championship title” that features branding for Super Bowl LIX the game’s official logo and colors, and design elements inspired by New Orleans.
The report also adds that the custom title is set to be unveiled over the weekend ahead of the NFL’s big game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles,
WWE star Bayley is amongst the star-studded participants in the list revealed for the 2025 Ruffles NBA All-Star Celebrity Game. She will play as part of Team Rice, coached by Pro Football Hall of Famer Jerry Rice
Warner Bros. cancels John Cena’s TV show
As per reports from Deadline, Warner Bros. Discovery has canceled John Cena‘s TV show Wipeout. Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio revealed that the show was canceled due to dismal ratings, with the most recent episode drawing numbers comparable to past Saturday’s episode of AEW Collision’s lackluster viewership.
WWE talents frustrated with Def Rebel theme songs
According to Frightful’s several sources in WWE, an overwhelming number of WWE talents are unhappy with their new Def Rebel theme songs and have attempted to revert to their previous ones.
WWE has also tried to change some entrance themes, but faced resistance from the talents, with some managing to keep their original themes.
