Let’s explore the latest rumors and updates from social media!
Speculations and rumors are among some of the favorite pastimes for WWE fans worldwide. Fans around the world enjoy discussing and debating various aspects of the pro wrestling world.
The speculations and rumors continue to grow around any major event or PLE and such is the case following the 2025 Royal Rumble PLE where Jey Uso and Charlotte Flair emerged victorious and punched their ticket for WrestleMania. The PLE also featured multiple returns and developments.
In today’s edition of the rumor roundup, we cover the latest rumors among fans, including a clash between Drew McIntyre and Damian Priest at WrestleMania 41, Roxanne Perez’s main roster debut, Alexa Bliss’ contract update, Angelo Dawkins’ surgery, and more.
Drew McIntyre outburst and clash with Damian Priest at WrestleMania 41
According to Daily Mail, Drew McIntyre is set to feud with ‘The Archer of Infamy’ Damian Priest through WrestleMania 41. The Dialy Mail also added that Drew is of the opinion that he “deserves a more prominent feud after the most successful year of his career in 2024.”
Roxanne Perez’s main roster debut
Former NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez showcased her talents and shined under the bright lights in the women’s Royal Rumble match. Perez created history as surpassed Bayely and now holds the record for most time spent in a single women’s Royal Rumble (1:07:47).
According to Fightful, the former NXT Women’s Champion is expected to be called up from NXT to the main roster “sooner rather than later.” The report also clarified that there is no confirmed timeline for her debut. Perez has been on WWE’s radar for a main roster call-up since early January.
Alexa Bliss’ contract update
According to Dave Meltzer, Alexa Bliss, and WWE had last-minute negotiations for Bliss to make a surprise return at the Royal Rumble. However, Meltzer thinks this was actually a clever ruse to create a false narrative, potentially even misleading WWE higher-ups.
Alexa made her highly anticipated return after almost two years of absence as she entered the Rumble match at number 21. PWI has noted that Bliss will be part of Monday Night Raw going forward.
Furthermore, Fightful Select reports that NXT star Shotzi was initially slated to take the spot in the Women’s Royal Rumble match that ultimately went to Bliss, with rehearsals on Friday and even Saturday morning indicating she was still in line for the appearance.
Royal Rumble frustration
As we reported earlier of Drew McIntyre’s dissatisfaction with how things transpired in the men’s Royal Rumble match, it now seems like the frustration was just not limited to McIntyre.
According to Dave Meltzer, multiple stars were “pissed” off at an unnamed superstar for trying to get himself over instead of the match.
“There’s a guy that a lot of people were pissed at in that match, with the idea that he was trying to get himself over and not the match over, and he was doing things. I don’t wanna mention his name, it’ll probably come out tomorrow, because it’s only one person telling me the name, but it’s multiple people telling me that the Drew thing… he wasn’t happy. It’s not an angle. If they end up doing an angle with the person later–which there’s no hints of anything. But I heard that Drew was not the only one unhappy about the situation.” Meltzer said.
Bryan Alvarez suggested that either LA Knight or Logan Paul may have been responsible for a botched spot in the men’s Rumble match, as one of them appeared to be out of position after Paul’s entrance, which allegedly disrupted a major planned elimination sequence.
Angelo Dawkins’ surgery
Street Profits’ Angelo Dawkins made a surprise return alongside Montez Ford during the WWE Tag Team match between Tomasso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano (DIY) who were defending the titles against Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin (Motor City Machine Guns).
On a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer revealed that Dawkins had surgery to repair a torn meniscus within the past couple of weeks.
“So Angelo Dawkins had minor knee surgery, torn meniscus, I believe, just in the last couple of weeks. So that’s why you had the crutch. And I don’t know that that was ever explained. Was that explained?
I don’t remember it in commentary at all. Does anyone know why they like it? The guy’s got a crutch, but that is the reason. And, and the, you know, you know, actually, in the post-show, Big E brought it up, you know, just out of nowhere, just like, oh yeah, he just had knee surgery. So, you know, I think Dawkins had told him, like, earlier that afternoon. So it didn’t even seem like it was something that, like he was supposed to say. It was just something that he kind of said”. Meltzer stated.
Dawkins and Ford appeared during the match and attacked the two teams which caused the disqualification and DIY retained the tag titles.
Royal Rumble in Indianapolis
The Stamford-based promotion arrived in Indianapolis to deliver the Royal Rumble 2025 PLE. As mentioned, the PLE featured multiple iconic moments including high-profile returns, brawls, and more.
According to PWInsider, WWE insiders revealed that the promotion was extremely pleased with the collaboration with Indianapolis, stating they “absolutely loved” hosting the Royal Rumble weekend events in the city.
