The road to WrestleMania has kicked off with the Royal Rumble PLE and the next stop on the road is the Elimination Chamber PLE and fans have started speculating about the matches and appearances.

In today’s edition of the rumor roundup, we cover the latest rumors and news circulating among fans, including updated plans for Tiffany Stratton vs Charlotte Flair, Trish Stratus’ return, Jordynne Grace taking a pay cut, more layoffs by WWE, scrapped plans for Giovanni Vinci & more.

Updated plans for Tiffany Stratton vs Charlotte Flair

Amid the rumors of a potential clash between Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton and Charlotte Flair for WrestleMania 41. Dr. Chris Featherstone has revealed that the original plan for Flair was for Flair to work as a babyface.

Featherstone said on Backstage Pass that the promotion has now plans on using Flair more as a heel in the feud. This is likely due to the heavy amount of backlash Flair received after winning the Women’s Royal Rumble match.

Trish Stratus’ return

WWE Hall of Famer, Trish Stratus made her return during the Women’s Royal Rumble match on February 1 at the Lucas Oil Stadium. Reports now suggest that she is working on the promotion ahead of the second PLE of 2025.

According to Fightful Select, Trish Stratus is working with the promotion in some manner leading up to the Elimination Chamber 2025 PLE, which will take place in her hometown of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Additional sources also revealed that Stratus sometimes pitches ideas to the promotion and remains a constant part of internal conversations.

More layoffs by the WWE

During the last two days several superstars have been released by the Stamford-based promotion, the list includes former champion veterans and more. There is now a new addition to the list of talents that the promotion has released.

Legado Del Fantasma’s Manager Elektra Lopez has now joined the string of stars the promotion has released since Friday. According to PWInsider, Lopez was released by the promotion on Friday. The promotion has also moved her to the alumni section on their website.

Jordynne Grace takes a pay cut

Former TNA World Champion Jordynne Grace arrived in the promotion with a bang in the women’s Royal Rumble match and is now waiting for the promotion to assign her a brand. Grace is likely set for the NXT brand, although her contract means she will likely be moved to the main roster shortly.

During a Fightful Q&A, Sean Ross Sapp revealed that Grace “effectively took a pay cut to join WWE,” regarding how she did with her various income sources before signing with the company.

Scrapped plans for Giovanni Vinci

Former Imperium member, Giovanni Vinci was among the stars who were released by the promotion last week.  He was released after months of inactivity and his last performance was during the September 20, 2024 show of WWE Raw.

According to Dave Meltzer,  WWE had “a great idea” for Giovanni Vinci “doing the rich playboy gimmick” but it never really became a reality. Fightful adds that WWE officials were initially impressed with his new character vignettes, but the momentum ultimately didn’t lead to any significant opportunities.
