Update on Chris Jericho

According to Fightful Select, there has been no internal notice or formal messaging within AEW suggesting that Chris Jericho has departed the company.
Meanwhile, Final Bell Media’s Andrew Baydala has stated that he believes Jericho has already committed to a return to WWE. Other sources add that Jericho is also highly interested in working with TNA, fueling speculation that he could show up on the debut episode of Thursday Night Impact on AMC next week.
“Chris Jericho has already agreed to a WWE return. There’s a lot of smoke around this from what I was gathering from people who were calling and texting me, from people who would know, that Chris Jericho is very interested in working TNA.”
Oba Femi & Je’Von Evans’ main roster call-up

Several reports suggest that Oba Femi is on track for a move to the Monday Night Raw roster following his decision to vacate the NXT Championship this week at New Year’s Evil.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful noted that WWE chose not to have Femi lose the title as a way to keep him protected ahead of his main-roster debut.
Meanwhile, WrestleVotes has reported that creative plans already have Femi positioned for a major push on Raw, with expectations that he will be featured in a prominent role at WrestleMania 42.
According to Wrestlevotes Radio on Fightful Select, multiple people within WWE were reportedly caught off guard and even confused by the decision to place Je’Von Evans signing of his main roster contract during a commercial break on this week’s Raw, though sources stressed that it had nothing to do with the company’s perception of Evans.
Sean Ross Sapp noted that there was internal chatter suggesting some Raw segments ran long, which may have resulted in the Evans segment being shifted to the ad break. However, the report emphasized that this explanation remains unconfirmed and is based only on backstage speculation.
Santos Escobar’s absence

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Santos Escobar’s time away from television stemmed from a straightforward issue, as creative plans involving him simply fell through the cracks.
While he continued to be paid during that period, making it a notable lapse, the report noted that there had been internal discussions about getting things back on course for him.
Per Dave Meltzer, before Matt Cardona made his return to WWE last week, he was widely considered to be the highest-paid full-time wrestler on the independent scene. According to one independent promoter, Cardona was commanding a fee of roughly $5,000 per appearance.
Wrestling Observer reports that there are people in WWE who are “very high” on AEW star Powerhouse Hobbs. Cory of Bodyslam.net adds that the promotion would sign him if he is available. “They would sign him if he was available.”
