According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE had an early proposed match card for SummerSlam 2025 that featured several blockbuster bouts.

Among the marquee matches listed were Roman Reigns vs Bron Breakker, Jey Uso vs Bronson Reed, and Becky Lynch vs Bayley.

Other notable matchups included Charlotte Flair vs Alexa Bliss, a steel cage clash between Jacob Fatu and Solo Sikoa, and Tiffany Stratton vs Jade Cargill. AJ Styles was set to face Dominik Mysterio, while Naomi, IYO SKY, and Rhea Ripley were penciled in for a triple threat. A TLC match featuring SmackDown’s tag teams was also part of the lineup.

Goldberg wrestled his final WWE match earlier this month at Saturday Night’s Main Event XL, where he faced Gunther in a hard-hitting clash for the World Heavyweight Championship. Despite a valiant effort, the WCW legend fell short as The Ring General secured victory with his trademark sleeper hold.

Goldberg received a heartfelt ovation from his hometown crowd in Atlanta, but his emotional post-match speech was cut from the broadcast, leaving him disappointed.
