Let’s discuss the latest rumors circulating among fans on social media!

Speculations and rumors are among some of the favorite pastimes for WWE fans worldwide. Fans from all over the world enjoy discussing and debating various aspects of the world of pro wrestling. The road to WrestleMania began with the Royal Rumble PLE and was followed by Elimination Chamber. Fans have started speculating about the matches and appearances.

In today’s edition of the rumor roundup, we cover the latest rumors and news circulating among fans on social media, including John Cena’s appearance for Saturday Night’s Main Event, Cody Rhodes’ heel turn orchestrated by The Rock, Raw women’s locker room and more.

John Cena’s appearance for Saturday Night’s Main Event

16-time WWE World Champion John Cena has been announced for WWE’s post-WrestleMania Saturday Night’s Main Event on May 24th, 2025, which will emanate from Tampa, Florida, as part of the Memorial Day weekend shows.

Cena has also been announced for multiple Friday Night SmackDown shows after the Mania PLE. According to WWE’s events website, the 16-time World Champion will perform live at the following shows after WrestleMania 41:

  • May 30th SmackDown in Knoxville, TN
  • June 13th SmackDown in Lexington, KY
  • June 20th SmackDown in Grand Rapids, MI

Cody Rhodes’ heel turn orchestrated by The Rock & Travis Scott

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there was a pitch for Cody Rhodes to turn heel and align with The Rock against John Cena ahead of WrestleMania 41. However, Fightful Select confirmed that the idea was ultimately rejected, with the only verified aspect being that Cody was offered the pitch but chose to turn it down.

“Dwayne Johnson legit, when he wasn’t going to wrestle, and decided to be a part of the Mania build, wanted to be aligned with Rhodes going heel. There are those in the company who believed the only thing that could have hurt the company would have been a Rhodes heel turn at this time. The feeling is that this current crowd is Cody’s crowd. There is the argument you don’t mess with a successful formula.” Meltzer stated.

The Observer also reports that rapper Travis Scott “got all kinds of heat backstage” after accidentally injuring Cody Rhodes at Elimination Chamber. Some people within WWE believe that Scott “shouldn’t have been out there nor put in that position in the first place.”

Raw women’s locker room

Dave Meltzer, of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, reported that before being written off TV, Jade Cargill had allegedly upset several members of the Raw women’s locker room. It was also claimed that Shayna Baszler wanted to confront Cargill but was reportedly calmed down by management.

Fightful Select reports that the tension between Jade Cargill and Shayna Baszler dates back to a match they had in Scotland last year, where the finish didn’t go as planned. Word backstage is that Cargill allegedly told Baszler she needed to “learn how to work,” which upset many people. However, those close to Jade deny this and claim she was apologetic about the situation.

Additionally, Jade’s extended absence from WWE reportedly caused some heat in the locker room. Some backstage individuals believe she requested time off during WWE’s mandatory holiday tour, which led to doubts about the legitimacy of her injury when she was later pulled from TV.

Rey Fenix & WWE in Australia

A report from PW Insider Elite states that Rey Fenix is set to debut with WWE following the European tour, which concludes on March 31. Fenix was recently removed from the AEW roster page and is currently set to undergo WWE medical testing.

Additionally, during his appearance at the MIT Sloan Sports Analytics Conference, WWE CCO Triple H announced that WWE will return to Perth, Australia this fall.
