WWE Rumor Roundup – Sheamus joining AEW, update on Naomi’s return, 946 vs The Bloodline & more

Let’s dive into the latest WWE rumors currently making waves among fans.

Speculation and rumors are among the favorite pastimes of WWE fans worldwide. Fans from all over the world enjoy discussing and debating various aspects of the world of pro wrestling.

In today’s edition of the roundup, we cover the latest rumors and news circulating among fans on social media, including Shamus’ possible departure, Drew McIntyre’s return to the spotlight, and many more.

Sheamus joining AEW

Sheamus spent over two decades in the WWE, winning the WWE Heavyweight Championship once and the WWE Championship three times in his career. While the Celtic Warrior remained one of the dominant wrestlers for the majority of his active career in the WWE ring, he had opted not to extend his contract, which was set to expire on October 1. WWE also moved his name to the Alumni page in the same week.

But the 2015 Money in the Bank Winner could still be active in Pro Wrestling, as WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select spoke to a source within AEW about the possibility of bringing Sheamus to the company in the near future. As per the source, there is likely to be some interest from AEW about signing Sheamus to a full-time deal, with some support surrounding the idea.

Naomi’s return update

Jaida Parker joined Royce Keys and OTM in the 946 faction as she ran over Jacob Fatu with her car in the recent edition of RAW. Although it gives different dynamics to the 946 faction, WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select discussed Naomi’s potential return to WWE.

Although the megastar took time off due to her pregnancy, her return could be very impactful considering her ties with the Usos.

Naomi’s last in-ring appearance came during SummerSlam 2025, where she defended the World title, defeating Rhea Ripley and Iyo Sky in a triple threat match. While her last match was for her title defence, her upcoming bout will be for family.

Drew McIntyre’s possible return

Naomi might not be the only possible return to the WWE ring, as fans might see Drew McIntyre in action. As per a report from PWInsider, the former champion has recently been spotted at WWE HQ in Stamford, Connecticut. The 275-pound wrestler is not currently linked with any ongoing storylines in WWE but is physically ready.

The five-time WWE Champion has not been seen since losing to Jacob Fatu at WrestleMania 42 in April 2026, with McIntyre having taken a leave of absence to film outside projects.

The Usos in danger after attack on Jacob Fatu?

The biggest storyline within the WWE is certainly 946’s impact on a former Bloodline member, where they kidnapped Solo Sikoa and even ran over Jacob Fatu with a car.

Now those stars won’t be at Money in the Bank on October 10. Votes believes that something similar will happen to the Usos on next week’s Raw to take them out of the mix for the PLE as well.

Bigger build-up for Survivor Series

The bigger picture is not just for the MITB Matches, but the impact is much larger. On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer speculated that Roman Reigns could be part of a War Games match at Survivor Series if 946 cost him the world championship against LA Knight at Money in the Bank. With The Bloodline members out of the question, that suddenly sounds like a plausible outcome.

In addition to Reigns’ involvement in War Games, some fans are claiming that LA Knight will be revealed as a member of the 946. However, WrestleVotes noted that there are no plans as of now to turn Knight heel.
