WWE continues to make headlines as the company builds toward Crown Jewel 2026 and prepares for the next phase of its major rivalries. Alongside the on-screen action, several developments involving current and former wrestlers are generating discussion across the wrestling world.

Rusev’s possible return to WWE programming

Rusev’s WWE future is drawing attention following a fresh report from Fightful Select about discussions for his possible return as far back as September. The Bulgarian Brute has previously enjoyed multiple feuds and storylines in his second run with the company.
A potential comeback to television could provide the Stamford-based promotion with another experienced name for its ongoing rivalries, particularly as the company builds toward Crown Jewel and Survivor Series. Rusev’s popularity and established character could make him a valuable addition to upcoming storylines.
Eric Young working as a WWE NXT producer

Veteran wrestler and former champion in TNA World Championship, Eric Young, is rumored to be back in WWE off-screen as a producer for NXT since July 2026. This information has been provided by Mike Johnson of PWInsider.
Earlier this year, Young made his request to get released from TNA, thus ending his latest stint with the organization. It is worth mentioning that this time around, Young’s return is significant considering that in 2022, he came back to the Stamford-based promotion but had to quit before making any appearance on TV due to some personal and professional reasons.
However, it is also noteworthy that both Young and the Chief Content Officer, Triple H, have had good relations for years now. It is rumored that Young has been welcome to come back whenever he liked because of his positive relations with WWE.
KAIRI’s future remains uncertain amid AEW talks

Former WWE star KAIRI, previously known as Kairi Sane, continues to attract interest from All Elite Wrestling and wrestling promotions in Japan. Fightful has reported that discussions between KAIRI and AEW have continued, but no contract agreement has been finalized.
Her potential arrival would give AEW an experienced performer with a strong international following. During her WWE career, KAIRI competed in singles and tag team action and became a former Women’s Tag Team Champion alongside Asuka as part of The Kabuki Warriors. However, her next destination remains unconfirmed.
The Bollywood Boyz set to make PWR debut in India
The debut of the Bollywood Boyz fka the Singh Brothers in Pro Wrestling Rebellion (PWR) is scheduled for January 22, 2027, at which time the company will hold an event in Talkatora Stadium, located in New Delhi, India. This is a significant moment in the careers of the brothers, who have competed in the WWE and other foreign promotions.
The duo mentioned how excited they were about the return to India, stressing the importance of this country in terms of their career. In particular, it was in Indian wrestling promotion Ring Ka King that they got fame approximately 15 years ago.
This event marks PWR’s second live event in New Delhi, after they made their debut with PWR Kranti in September at the same venue.
TJ Wilson produced Giulia vs Blake Monroe Street Fight

WWE producer TJ Wilson was reportedly responsible for producing the Street Fight between Giulia and Blake Monroe on the October 23 episode of SmackDown. Fightful Select’s backstage production information identified Wilson as the producer for the match.
The match was the latest chapter in the rivalry between Giulia and Monroe. The stipulation allowed the two competitors to use weapons and take the fight beyond the restrictions of a standard singles match. Monroe ultimately emerged victorious, continuing her momentum in the women’s division.
Wilson has extensive experience working behind the scenes in WWE, particularly with matches involving the women’s roster. His involvement in the Street Fight highlights the production work that goes into translating an intense rivalry into an engaging television contest.
Has WWE changed the venue for Crown Jewel 2026?
No. As of October 26, WWE still plans to hold Crown Jewel at Riyadh Season Stadium in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on November 7.
Is Rusev returning to WWE programming?
Although there are rumors about Rusev returning to programming, there is no confirmation from either party as of October 26.
