Fans could expect some new arrivals in the near future.
With the WWE Money in the Bank 2026 still a few days away, there are various predictions for the MITB Winners. But that doesn’t stop the rumor mill, as there is plenty of action and storylines going beyond the October PLE.
While we bring the latest news and rumors circulating among the fans and on social media, check out the current talk of the town, including the reason for Jacob Fatu’s absence, the possible return of Enzo and Drew McIntyre, and also Shamus’ difficult situation post-WWE exit.
Jacob Fatu is filming a project with Drew McIntyre & Joe Hendry
Jacob Fatu was written off television after he was hit by a car driven by Jaida Parker last week. The angle initially appeared to be part of the ongoing storyline involving The Bloodline and The 946. However, a backstage update has now provided another explanation for his absence.
According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Fatu is believed to be filming a WWE project alongside Drew McIntyre and Joe Hendry. Meltzer suggested that the filming commitments explain why the Stamford-based promotion created the angle to temporarily remove Fatu from television.
The development is particularly interesting because WWE recently partnered with ReelShort for an original live-action micro drama project featuring WWE talent. Reports have linked Fatu, McIntyre and Hendry to the project. Talking about Drew McIntyre, there are updates on the Scottish Warrior as well.
Drew McIntyre’s return remains unclear

Although the former champion is part of WWE‘s ReelShort project, it does not necessarily indicate an immediate return to an active storyline.
Recent reports have suggested that the promotion does not currently have concrete plans for McIntyre’s in-ring return, despite his continued involvement with the company.
His appearance at WWE headquarters and connection to the microdrama project have therefore generated speculation about when fans could see him back in a major wrestling angle. For now, there is no confirmed date for his return.
Update on Enzo after Big Cass’ return
Another former wrestler looking to be in the spotlight is Enzo Amore. The former Cruiserweight Champion. Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that Enzo’s return to NXT was considered “pretty much a done deal” at one point, although those plans ultimately did not materialize.
Interestingly, looking at his former partner Big Cass’ current storyline, WWE wanted to keep the two apart, believing that Cass could have more upside as a singles performer. This leaves the former Cruiserweight champion without an immediate plan.
As of October 7, there is no confirmation that Enzo has signed with the company or that a return has been scheduled. Therefore, while his comeback remains possible, fans should treat the latest report as an update on past creative plans rather than confirmation of an imminent return.
Sheamus attracting interest from AEW & TNA

Another major story making the rounds concerns former WWE star Sheamus. The Irish wrestler officially became a free agent earlier this month after his WWE contract expired.
Reports previously indicated that WWE decided against renewing his deal, while the veteran was also reportedly facing a significant pay reduction under a proposed restructured contract.
The latest update from Fightful Select suggests there is interest in bringing Sheamus to AEW, with several established AEW veterans reportedly pushing the promotion to sign him. Then there are talks around his possible TNA debut. However, fans should not interpret this as meaning a deal is imminent.
Necro Butcher Signs WWE Legends Deal
Independent wrestling veteran Necro Butcher (Dylan Summers) has announced via Facebook that he has signed a “basic Legends deal” with WWE, despite never wrestling for the promotion.
Butcher revealed the news on Facebook on October 6, stating that the offer came shortly after he left his regular job and that the agreement could open the door to several WWE-related projects.
While Butcher said he will continue honoring his scheduled independent appearances, PWInsider has separately confirmed with WWE sources that the nostalgia/Legends deal is legitimate.
With Money in the Bank approaching on October 10, the next few days could bring further updates, particularly regarding major storylines and plans for the remainder of 2026.
