According to PW Insider, the Stamford-based promotion is receiving a “mind-blowing” sum of money to host WrestleMania 43 in Saudi Arabia in 2027.

Per Nick LoPiccolo, the Saudi Arabian government paid a total of $350 MILLION to WWE for Royal Rumble 2026 and WrestleMania 2027. (Royal Rumble: $100 million & WrestleMania: $250 million).

Fightful Select reports that a WWE higher-up informed them that no discussions have taken place regarding specific talent for WrestleMania 43, and any names mentioned so far are purely speculative. This contradicts reports from the previous day suggesting The Rock was close to finalizing a deal for the event.

The report also adds that The Rock and Stone Cold have not yet been approached by the promotion as was rumoured earlier.

The Insider also adds that sources within WWE said that WrestleMania 43 week in Saudi Arabia is expected to feature the usual lineup of events, including Raw, SmackDown, and the Hall of Fame ceremony in Riyadh. However, it’s still unclear whether NXT will be part of the schedule.

Replying to a sarcastic fan tweet about WWE shifting its headquarters to Saudi Arabia or making the country a permanent location for Mania, TC of WrestleVotes revealed WWE has “established a permanent office in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia” over the last week.

John Cena’s retirement match

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the Stamford-based promotion “failed to get an agreement with NBC” to shift the date of John Cena’s retirement match to December 27, in order to continue their counter-programming of AEW and go head-to-head with the AEW Worlds End PPV.

The Observer also reports that WWE approached the city of Boston about hosting Cena’s final match, requesting a site fee comparable to the $7 million New Jersey paid for two nights of SummerSlam.

However, Boston officials didn’t believe that an arena show held less than two weeks before Christmas would bring in enough tourism to justify the expense. As a result, the promotion explored other offers before ultimately selecting Washington, D.C. as the host city.

TNA talents banned from working at Maple Leaf Wrestling

F4WOnline’s Dave Meltzer reported that TNA talent is prohibited from working on Scott D’Amore’s Maple Leaf Wrestling shows because TNA management views AEW as the enemy, even though D’Amore is permitted to book AEW talent.

However, TNA President Carlos Silva denied this claim, telling Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp that TNA wrestlers are allowed to participate in MLP events.

When and where will WrestleMania 43 take place?

The 43rd edition of WrestleMania in 2027 will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. WWE has not yet revealed the date for the show.

In which city is John Cena’s retirement match taking place?

John Cena’s retirement match is set for December 13 in Washington, D.C.
