Speculation and rumors are among the favorite pastimes of WWE fans worldwide. Fans from all over the world enjoy discussing and debating various aspects of the world of pro wrestling. In the aftermath of the Clash in Paris, the rumor mill continues to run in full force.

In today’s edition of the roundup, we cover the latest rumors and news circulating among fans on social media, including Roman Reigns’ return on Monday Night Raw, backlash in Israel over NXT Invasion, an update on Piper Niven, and more.

Roman Reigns’ return

Following last night’s Monday Night Raw, PW Insider reports that Roman Reigns was always scheduled to return to WWE television shortly after completing his filming for Street Fighter.

During the main event of the 09/29 show, Roman Reigns made his return to aid The Usos (Jimmy & Jey Uso) against Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed. The Usos defeated Breakker and Reed in the Tornado Tag team match to win the Wrestlepalooza rematch, while Reigns settled the score with Breakker and Reed afterwards.

Backlash in Israel over NXT Invasion

In a report, the Israeli newspaper Israel Hayom has strongly criticized WWE for both the title and timing of its upcoming NXT special, Invasion, scheduled for October 7.

The publication called the choice “extremely insensitive,” highlighting that the date marks the anniversary of the 2023 Hamas attacks. The paper also questioned who in the company was behind what it described as a “preposterous decision.”

Furthermore, according to Sky News Arabia, Israeli officials have raised concerns about NXT‘s Invasion event, pointing out that its timing coincides with the anniversary of the 2023 Hamas attacks. They feel the event’s title is poorly chosen, given the sensitive nature of the day.

According to PW Insider, Mustafa Ali, Frankie Kazarian, Moose, and Mike Santana are all expected to appear on this week’s episode of NXT to further the TNA invasion storyline.

Update on Piper Niven

Speaking on the Fightful Select Q&A regarding Piper Niven’s injury, Sean Ross Sapp reported that while some in WWE are concerned it could be career-threatening, those close to her remain confident she’ll make a recovery.

However, she is expected to be out for the foreseeable future. Niven has been absent from WWE programming since before the Clash in Paris due to a neck injury

“It’s an injury, but as of this weekend when I asked, I don’t think they knew just how bad as of yet. We will continue to monitor things. It’s a neck injury, but it’s one that people have come back from. But she isn’t expected back any time soon. Some in the company fear it’s career threatening, but people close to her are confident that she’ll be back. She isn’t expected on television for the foreseeable future,” Sapp Said.

According to a report from Fightful Select, the Stamford-based promotion is considering adjustments to the start times for upcoming episodes of Raw in Boston and Madison Square Garden.

Collider reported that former WWE star Braun Strowman has revealed he’s in talks to portray Jason Voorhees in an upcoming Friday the 13th revival film.

Another report from Fightful reveals that OVW has resumed production on another season of “Wrestlers,” but Netflix did not pick the show for a second season. The season is being produced entirely in-house, and they are now seeking distribution options.

“Fightful Select learned more about a follow up to “Wrestlers” that OVW is working on. Netflix didn’t pick up the show for a season two, so OVW has decided to produce a show of their own and shop it.”

Why are Israelis upset over the upcoming WWE NXT special, Invasion?

Israelis are upset over the upcoming NXT special, Invasion, because it’s scheduled to air on October 7, which coincides with the anniversary of the 2023 Hamas attacks. Additionally, many feel the event’s title is extremely insensitive given the significance of the date.
