Speculations and rumors are among some of the favorite pastimes for WWE fans worldwide. Fans from all over the world enjoy discussing and debating various aspects of the world of pro wrestling. In the aftermath of WrestleMania 41, the rumor mill continues to run in full force.
In today’s edition of the roundup, we cover the latest rumors and news circulating among fans on social media, including Brock Lesnar’s return, an update on AJ Lee, record-low ratings, and more.
Brock Lesnar’s return

Brock Lesnar made his return in the final moments of SummerSlam Night 2 and attacked John Cena, taking him down with an F5. However, he has been absent from WWE programming since then.
According to Fightful Select, Lesnar is expected to appear on the show tonight as he is scheduled to travel to the city. The September 5 Clash in Paris fallout episode of SmackDown is set to air from the Allstate Arena in Chicago, Illinois, USA.
Additionally, a recent report from WrestleVotes has revealed that John Cena’s appearance in Chicago on tonight’s show might be his final SmackDown appearance.
Update on AJ Lee

According to WrestleVotes Radio, this isn’t the first attempt by WWE to bring her back since CM Punk’s return in November 2023. However, it’s the first time the company has gone after it “in such a big way,” as they believe her comeback would generate significant buzz for their ESPN debut at Wrestlepalooza.
Lee is heavily speculated to return tonight on SmackDown, which will emanate from Chicago. Punk is confirmed for an appearance on the show amid his ongoing feud with Seth Rollins, who has now been joined by his wife and Women’s IC Champion Becky Lynch.
The returning Wrestlepalooza PLE will kick off the ESPN era and is set for Saturday, September 20, 2025, at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Tony D’Angelo’s main roster call-up
WrestleVotes also reported that Tony D’Angelo has recently come up in WWE creative discussions, with some believing he could be called up to the main roster before the end of the year. His mobster character is expected to stay largely the same, though some tweaks might be made.
D’Angelo is a former one-time NXT North American Champion, a one-time NXT Heritage Cup Champion, and a two-time NXT Tag Team Champion.
Nikki Bella on her IC title match & record low ratings
On an edition of The Nikki & Brie Show, Nikki Bella revealed that her Intercontinental Title match with Becky Lynch was initially planned for an episode of WWE Raw. However, after Naomi announced her pregnancy, the plans shifted, and the decision was made late to move the match to the Clash in Paris premium live event instead.
Bella suffered defeat in the Women’s Intercontinental title clash against Lynch at the Clash in Paris PLE last Sunday.
Wrestling Observer Radio’s Dave Meltzer thinks that WWE and AEW are “probably in for a lot of record-low ratings in the next three months.”
