Let’s discuss the latest rumors making the rounds among fans on social media!
Speculations and rumors are among some of the favorite pastimes for WWE fans worldwide. Fans from all over the world enjoy discussing and debating various aspects of the world of pro wrestling. In the aftermath of WrestleMania 41, the rumor mill continues to run in full force.
In today’s edition of the rumor roundup, we cover the latest rumors and news circulating among fans on social media, including an update on former US Women’s Champion Chelsea Green, WrestleMania in London (UK), Tom Segura’s appearance and more.
Update on Chelsea Green
Chelsea Green suffered a broken nose during her title clash against Women’s United States Champion Zelina Vega at the May 24 edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event in Tampa, Florida.
According to a recent report from Fightful Select, Green immediately “went backstage to film content for WWE” after suffering a broken nose during the title clash. The report notes that Green impressed people in the company with how she handled the situation.
Fightful also revealed that Green is expected to wear a face mask and not miss any TV time, following the injury.
WrestleMania in London
WWE fans in London have demanded a WrestleMania show in their city for the longest time. John Cena and London’s Mayor Sadiq Khan have also commented on the prospect.
Fightful Select reports that the likelihood of WrestleMania coming to the United Kingdom largely depends on financial factors, particularly the site fees the promotion can negotiate. WWE would likely demand a significant site fee from Wembley Stadium or any other major London venue, as hosting WrestleMania would be a major financial boon for whoever secures it.
However, a potential hurdle could be the timing, as WrestleMania typically takes place in March or April, which coincides with the end of the football season.
In contrast, AEW is believed to have paid the City of London and local venues to host its shows, including Wembley Stadium for All In in 2023 and 2024. Additionally, the O2 is set to host AEW’s Forbidden Door event in August 2025.
Tom Segura’s appearance
Comedian Tom Segura made an appearance on this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw, which emanated from the Yeungling Center in Tampa, Florida. Segura appeared in a backstage segment alongside fellow comedian Bert Kriescher and former WWE World Tag Champs War Raiders (Erik & Ivar).
WrestleVotes reports that several people within WWE were displeased with Segura’s appearance on the latest Raw. The anger was due to his past comments in which he mocked professional wrestling, referring to it as “fake,” and insulting both wrestlers and fans as “stupid” and “idiots.” It was said to be a “Netflix call” to have Segura on the show.
Swearing during live broadcasts
Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio recently revealed that people within WWE have actually considered asking fans not to swear during live broadcasts.
“People have actually suggested this, of just like making an announcement of, ‘Hey, we’re here. It’s a TV show. It’s going all over the world. We want you to have fun, don’t swear because it’s going to ruin the TV show.’”
Fightful reported that this has already happened for NXT broadcasts from the Performance Center. Those who continue swearing after being asked not to are told they could be removed, but they haven’t heard about “any incident that went past a warning”.
