Speculations and rumors are among some of the favorite pastimes for WWE fans worldwide. Fans from all over the world enjoy discussing and debating various aspects of the world of pro wrestling. In the aftermath of WrestleMania 41, the rumor mill continues to run in full force.
In today’s edition of the rumor roundup, we cover the latest rumors and news circulating among fans on social media, including AJ Lee’s return, Evolution 2, Seth Rollins’ injury, John Cena’s final opponent, Trish Stratus’ next match, and more.
AJ Lee’s return & Evolution 2
According to PWInsider, there was never any connection between the Stamford-based promotion recently uploading AJ Lee content and her possible return. Many fans started speculating ahead of Evolution 2 that the former Divas Champion is making a return when WWE recently uploaded her content.
PWInsider also reports that the reaction within the promotion to Evolution 2 was overwhelmingly positive, with many feeling it was so successful that they’ll have to do another one. While there’s no set timetable yet, the belief in the event’s potential is strong, even though a decision on the next one hasn’t been made.
The second edition of the all-women’s PLE, Evolution, concluded on July 13 at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. The PLE saw multiple amazing performances, and the night was capped off by a surprise cash-in by Naomi, who bagged the Women’s World title.
Seth Rollins’ injury
Dave Meltzer revealed on Wrestling Observer Radio that he heard from a trusted source that Seth Rollins’ injury at Saturday Night’s Main Event might not be real, as they “heard about it on Thursday.”
Meanwhile, Bryan Alvarez noted that “the last 40 minutes of the show were changed on the fly, and there was something that was supposed to happen later that didn’t as a result of the injury.”
Furthermore, Fightful reported that Rollins was seen backstage at Evolution 2 wearing a knee brace and walking on crutches. Rollins suffered a freak injury during his singles match against LA Knight at Saturday Night’s Main Event last week.
PW Insider has strongly rejected any speculation that Rollins’ injury is a work, emphasizing that it’s not, and calling such claims disrespectful to the Visionary himself.
