Undisputed title rematch

According to WrestleVotes Radio, the promotion’s current plans are to book a championship rematch between John Cena and Cody Rhodes at SummerSlam, which suggests that both are expected to win their respective matches this Saturday at Night of Champions in Saudi Arabia.

Cody Rhodes is set to battle Randy Orton in the King of the Ring tournament, while John Cena is set to defend the title against CM Punk. Cena won the Undisputed title by defeating Rhodes at WrestleMania 41.

Trish Stratus’ return

WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus is gearing up for a return in the near future. WrestleVotes Radio reports that she was initially slated to appear on the June 13th episode of Friday Night SmackDown, with her comeback and related graphics already written into the show, before the plans were unexpectedly scrapped.

“We are told the return of Trish Stratus is also right around the corner, The announcement of her return was planned and scripted into the 6/13 episode of Friday Night SmackDown. According to a source, the announcement and graphics were set to air before John Cena’s second promo of the night.”

Wrestlevotes adds that while the June 13 plans were scrapped, Stratus’ return is still on the books and will likely be part of the upcoming all-women’s Evolution PLE.

“While this plan was obviously scrapped, we are told the return is still on the books, with Stratus set to be part of the upcoming Evolution PLE.”

TKO shifting WWE Headquarters to Las Vegas & Cody Rhodes’ heel turn

According to WrestleVotes, following Vince McMahon’s exit, there is talk in TKO (WWE’s parent company) about moving WWE headquarters to Las Vegas, Nevada, when the lease expires on the current building in Stamford, Connecticut.

According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, a source stated that turning Cody Rhodes heel is “the only thing that could possibly hurt our business right now.” Despite this concern, The Rock is reportedly still pushing for the heel turn to happen.

Backstage praise for Aleister Black & Chelsea Green’s absence

As per PWInsider, WWE has plans to elevate Aleister Black’s position on SmackDown, as the company is said to be pleased with his performances and strong merchandise sales.

According to Fightful Select, Chelsea Green missed the June 13 episode of Friday Night SmackDown due to a sinus infection that caused some hearing loss. The report also adds that Green was sent to the emergency room.

Vickie Guerrero’s return

According to Fightful Select, Vickie Guerrero has told several people that she’ll be returning to WWE for certain appearances “in a few weeks.” While her exact role remains unclear, the all-women’s pay-per-view Evolution is set for Sunday, July 13, in Atlanta, Georgia.

Guerrero made her WWE debut in the summer of 2005, initially appearing during Eddie Guerrero’s storyline feud with Rey Mysterio over the custody of Dominik Mysterio.
