Ahead of the Royal Rumble PLE, WWE is set to deliver the January 24 edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event. The first edition of SNME in 2026 is set to emanate live from the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

This will mark the first Saturday Night’s Main Event in Canada since XXXIV in Toronto back in 2007. The event will also serve as the lead-in to the first major WWE pay-per-view of 2025, scheduled a week later in Saudi Arabia.

Randy Orton, Trick Williams, Damian Priest, and Sami Zayn won their respective qualifying matches on the January 16 show of SmackDown. The four men will now battle in the fatal four-way match to determine the #1 contender for the Undisputed WWE title this Saturday.

The winner will get the chance to battle the current Champion, Drew McIntyre, at the Royal Rumble PLE in Riyadh next week.

RHIYO (Rhea Ripley & Iyo Sky) (c) vs The Judgment Day (Liv Morgan & Roxanne Perez) – Women’s Tag Team titles match

During the 01/12 episode of Raw, a #1 Contenders match for the Women’s Tag Team titles was announced, where the team of Liv Morgan and Roxanne Perez, Bayley & Lyra Valkyria, and The Kabuki Warriors (Asuka & Kairi Sane) battled for a shot at the title.

Morgan and Perez came out on top in the showdown, earning a shot at the current Tag Team Champions, RHIYO (Rhea Ripley & Iyo Sky), in Montreal. Taking advantage of their numbers, members of Judgment Day have already targeted RHIYO during the go-home show, while Liv remains determined to reclaim the title she technically never lost.

Cody Rhodes vs Jacob Fatu

There is no love lost between Cody Rhodes and Jacob Fatu, especially since Fatu unintentionally cost Rhodes the Undisputed title match against Drew McIntyre. After Rhodes’ promo during the January 16 episode of SmackDown, Fatu cut his own promo, calling out the American Nightmare, leading a brawl.

Shortly after a grudge match between the two was announced for the first SNME of 2026, their fallout has turned increasingly bitter, and tensions are expected to escalate even further in Montreal.

AJ Styles vs Shinsuke Nakamura

Ahead of his career-threatening match with Gunther, SmackDown GM Nick Aldis invited AJ Styles to the Blue brand. Styles made an appearance on the SNME go-home show, where Aldis asked Styles if he was certain about putting his career on the line against Gunther. Styles remarked that it was the disrespect that bothered him, and he wasn’t going to let Gunther decide when his own time was up.

Shinsuke Nakamura then appeared and asked Styles if he was willing to risk everything. Styles replied that if he didn’t step up to Gunther, he might as well have lost it all already. Nakamura then challenged him to prove he was still “Phenomenal” in a match at Saturday Night’s Main Event, and Styles accepted. Nick Aldis then made the match official between the two former rivals.
