Cody Rhodes and Jacob Fatu just beat the hell out of each other
WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event promised a marquee clash between Cody Rhodes and Jacob Fatu, but what unfolded at the Bell Centre was not a match; it was a violent, arena-wide brawl that never allowed the opening bell to ring.
From the moment Rhodes’ pyro exploded and he posed on the turnbuckles, the tone was set. Jacob Fatu stormed the ring and launched a savage ambush, immediately overwhelming Rhodes as referee Charles Robinson struggled to restore order.
Jacob Fatu turns Rhodes’ entrance into a war zone
Jacob Fatu battered Cody Rhodes relentlessly, ignoring Robinson’s attempts to intervene until Rhodes accidentally knocked the referee back. Though Rhodes briefly sent Fatu out of the ring, his attempted suicide dive was cut off with a brutal punch to the face.
Security flooded the scene, but Fatu dismantled them with ease. In a stunning display of athleticism, Fatu leapt from the ropes into a somersault plancha onto security at ringside. Although he missed Rhodes entirely, the American Nightmare still crashed to the floor, emphasizing the chaos.
Fatu attempted to walk away, but Rhodes attacked from behind, clawing at his eyes and dragging him back into the ring. Rhodes followed with a suicide dive that sent Fatu crashing over the commentary table, escalating the fight into the crowd.
Chaos spills through the arena and Drew McIntyre ends it
The brawl moved through the stands near Roy Nemer’s seating area, with both men using anything they could find. Rhodes smashed a road crate into Fatu, while Fatu countered with a devastating scoop slam on the concrete.
Security continued to be collateral damage. Fatu hurled guards aside, while Rhodes bounced him off equipment cases. The fight spilled into the concourse, where Rhodes hurled a recycling bin, Jamie Noble pleaded for order, and Fatu responded by Sambo suplexing a security guard through a table.
Back inside the arena, the chaos peaked. As Rhodes and Fatu fought atop road crates, Undisputed WWE Champion Drew McIntyre appeared. McIntyre shoved Fatu off the crates through tables, then low-blowed Rhodes and powerbombed him through another table to deafening boos.
McIntyre stood tall in the ring as the carnage settled.
Result: Cody Rhodes vs Jacob Fatu never officially began. The bout was ruled a no-contest after a prolonged brawl ended with Drew McIntyre laying out both men.
Did Rhodes vs Fatu officially take place?
No. The match never started due to Fatu’s attack during Rhodes’ entrance.
Why did Drew McIntyre interfere?
As Undisputed WWE Champion, McIntyre took advantage of the chaos, taking out both potential challengers.
